I have a better idea for you

I'll come to you on sat

You pay me R 40, and I 'll give you a race for your money over 10 k's

I will be in the car though

Can I hang out of the window holding up an energade / powerade as the proverbial carrot on the stick? smiley4.gif

Ox, that's a helluva long way to go to ride 10 k's dude. If you stay home, you can ride 20 or more just in the time it would take you to travel to the mealie curtain.

IMNAAHO, stay home, ride 40 and save the bucks.

When we want bricks hurled at us we ride in  the south - anywhere, if not successful we go into Thokoza, if not successful there, we wait for Strike season in July and then just make sure we are close enough to be hit

how about you join me in SBR on 15th?

Doing brick sessions will fit in better with my overall goals ... Might do SBR once or twice in Sep / Oct ... Still 2 (maybe 3) duathlons to do during this years

First need to get used to this run/cycle thing. To run so I can cycle has not harmed my cycling so far smiley1.gif - might not have done a lot for it, but did not harm it!

No soccor ball goals on my horizon smiley2.gif However if all works out well, I might reach my goal round about the same time as what the goals will be scored smiley1.gif

Need to up the stamina/endurance - speed is good enough for now.

Ah my brick training days back when I did Iron Man, sommer a quick 30k on the bike with those neon orange running shorts and a FNB cotton running vest and then off, put on the takkies and go for an 8k run.

No one cared if you wore a helmet (just wore one of those real Iron Man pink/blue cyclist lookin hats) or greeted other riders or stopped at robots ......

And before Littleben says anything yes we did walk to school barefoot in the snow uphill both ways smiley29.gif

How about the regulars (I refer to regular posters on the threads - not regular as in what you do by 6 on the loo every am) on this thread state our training/racing goals for the next couple months - maybe 5 untill end Dec, or 6/12

We get Ox to keep the records and to be the judge, loser/s pays for the lunch

anyone?

I reckon those were the days hey BB.

Remember as students training with Ian Martin in around 1988/89. Would do a bike ride in morning, track intervals in pm around lunchtime and gym session just to make sure it was a well balanced day.

there was no one else to greet, I didn't like the orange , preffered the bright yellow/green, can't remember whether Alberton had robots at the time

Could run a decent 33 min on a 10 k way back then. Now I battle to do that on the bike

"k guys, sorry to interrupt you chit chat about training.

With all the bike jackings going on on the steps, and my sudden aversion to cold, I would like to know if anyone wants to get a group ride going from Rietvlei from about 8 am on Sat and Sunday mornings.

It is still too cold for me for 07h30 (yeah, still in thereap after the WWRR at minus 4 degrees.) and I haven't done the loop for ages.

It's imprtant that we have a group together going up the steps.

How fast do you plan to cycle ?

(I'm 10kg heavier and 30km/h slower than before)

@Trubie

My goal is just to get onto my bike and do 40km.
