Shawn' date=' I guess the quesion is more "where did you go?".

You immeduately chased after Klipies when He came past the groupand upped the pace. Even greyowl said he and his mate had to put in a quick sprint just to catch up the bunch.

Me, I tried for a bit but ended up going out the back of the bunch. At high speed. You okes dropped me faster that the speed of night.

[/quote']

I see, well i bailed at the sprint. Closed the gap up the the river again. and finally called it a day at the top of the steps.

However it was just me who idi the pace work, there were some othe guys their who pulled as hard if not harder....Nothing like a fast tempo to get the legs ticking..smiley2.gif

Dude, I was quite comfortable pacing up front with you at 38. In fact it was quite enjoyable. But then you got all befork chasing the pace when you set off after "Klippies" I tried for a while to hang on. It just got too much for me and I had to drop off to recover. The rest of the bunch passed and I was then riding Solo.

I had not seen my other riding bud so I figured he dropped me too. Little did I know the bunch had already split and he had stayed behind in the second bunch.

In hindsight, maybe I should have done that too. Just stayed at home on the porch with the puppies.

Slave...that makes me soooo angry. Why can't human beings be decent for once' date=' grrrrr [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley7.gif[/img].

Especially that they know they're in the reserve, they know it has wild animals in it and they obviously don't realise that they may actually be killers of one of those animals due to a wrapper which is very light and can be put back into the pocket so easily.

this after the organizers pleaded with everyone that they should refrain from throwing anything in the reserve

but I bet those people will be the one's who complains the most when the reserve is closed to cyclists

Slave get back on the bike and stop complainning!!!

Otherwise I'll get you a job at the airport and you can say 'KOM PLAIN' all day long.

Get your bones out of bed early on Thursday and meet me at 5am and we'll do some climbing - slowly.

Then stop riding with the social bunch !!!! That's an order from both coaches.

I only saw 4 x gel wrappers in SBR on Sunday, the sad thing is that I saw another 4 gel wrappers on the rest of the route.

If you watch the pro's they through their bottles, etc onto the floor.

I agree that whatever wrapper you have put it back in your pocket and then put it in the dust bin!!!!

Best we go ride SBR before they close it to cyclists smiley19.gifsmiley19.gifsmiley19.gifsmiley19.gif

Sunday sounds good.

So you doing two laps on Sunday?

Kid, taking a few days rest bud. Planning to go riding with the birdman today. Interval training.

Will probably do most of two laps with Trubes on Sunday.

Hi All,

Finished the Cruise on Sat and it was quite tough. Eish.

Must say I also saw 4 wrappers but that was for the entire route.

Still not acceptable but better than what I have seen before.

I am going to see the people at SBR soon and I have some ideas.

Marking of routes handing out pamphlets as well as guestemated times to complete each route.

I have some ideas around a collection service for cyclist who gets stuck on the day.

Just some thoughts.

I spend one day in SBR after they had an event for runners and I must say I saw hundreds of sachets all over the reserve.

It was truly as sight to behold or perhaps to rather forget.

I am not good mouthing the wrappers but we are dealing with all sorts after all.

Pretty sure some of them read these comments and just ignore good advice.

Anyway had a good event and now starting to focus on 94.7

PS: How is this wind?

Good riding

what distance did you do?

I was in the reserve on sunday and saw some stupid cyclist riding against the one way etc. set some ideas to Slave who passed them on to Delgado - maybe take him along too (maybe he's already in your team?)

the wind is the pitts.

went to the reserve to do 2 laps, but the wind was throwing me around like a dry old rag and I decided against it

saturday we rode a 20 km TT, 10 with tailwind and 10 back straight into the wind - enough is enough now I say.

I hear its raining at the moment, so hopefully tmrw morning the wind has realized its done its job now, and takes a well deserved rest!!

Hi Slave, all the cyclists I see training in the mornings on the way to work made me a bit "green" enough to get the duster out and off to a service went the Mrs's bike and mine.

There is a new cycle shop in Heidelberg and worth a visit setting up bikes etc.... new state of the art equipment....well that's enough mumbo jumbo...after class Friday at 6 we will be taking the road...cool keep it safe.

Nice to see you again Errol.

GO, a birdie told me you were joining us for our ride tomorrow.

Meet at Rietvlei at 06h45 to leave at 06h55. We are doing the Bosco / Circus loop.

Nance, Trubie, Kid and I think Joe Slow .

See you then. smiley4.gif

Hi Kieran...sorry dude, I just logged on now and saw your post. There was a nice sized group that left from the 4way traffic lights on Kliprivier and Swartkoppiesat 7am this morning.

Dude, just head out that way on any given saturday or sunday and there is a group that rides from there. But,if you wish to join up with fellow Hubbers its best to let Slave know via PM and he'll arrange the meeting point/secret code/password. Will be a pleasure to have you along for a ride/s...

However...that all being said, where was Slave this weekend? I didnt see him...or any of the other arranged imports that he mentioned on saturday. And he was nowhere to be seen this morning either. Slave?!

This morning I went short...almost witnessed the death of some retard in our bunch as he decided to swing off the front at a right angle...only to be blasted by the driver of the passing Mercedes Vito (who might I add was not in the wrong, and displayed incredible driving skill)

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies.

Saturday...we went long (myself, Trubie and the Indigo Kid) and I was shocked over the top of the Lido hill that despite it being a single lane road...we still managed to block the lane. The riders at the back of the group insisted on riding 2 and 3 abreast. Cmon guys, we are smarter than that.

As for my fellow ASGR compatriots...thanks for waiting when I had the double blow out just past the Blockhouse! smiley35.gifsmiley21.gifsmiley3.gif

I'm sure you missed my pacing on the last 25km into the wind?

Everyman for himself I suppose?

Anyway...hope Slave is ok, and hope to see him on the road again next weekend??
