Something ironic about watching a movie about pain while riding on an IDT. Also has to be said that about the only upside of an IDT is you can ride when the weather is really crappy. :) Speaking of which, I see the weather prediction for Sudnay is 60% chance of rain. (Admin WHERE THE HECK IS THE "ouch" smiley???)

So, what's the route going to be or are we just going to rock up on Sunday and end up riding the Circus loop with the fast bunch which are going to drop my slow sorry ass? :(

'K so when y'all make up your minds about the route, I will be somewhere over there. See y'all Sunday and I have a date with the big guns tomorrow. Got a feeling I could end up being shot down. Watch this space. I may be making my next post from a recovery facility.

I watched about half of it in the tent at Magalies Adventure 2009. Then months ago bought the dvd but never got round to watching it. So last Saturday I decided to watch it. You concentrate on the tv and you don't get bored on the IDT.

Seems like it is meeting at Xumbugs at 7 on Sunday and doing the Bosco loop at our own pace.

Had a great ride this morning. Decided I was too slow to join the fast bunch so ended up with a smallish slower group. Why is it that I seem to end up on the front pulling with "tree-stump-legs" Andrew. (He has a serious pair of calves the man has.)

So about 9 km to go on the Allewynspoort road, Jackie decides the pace is too slow and after a bit of loud bitchin' decides to make a break. We let her go. The Tyx1 and some other dude decide to chase down the break. WTF, let's go have some fun.

So the three of us went off, passed J pretty quickly and just carried on going. Waited on the bridge and then headed out again. Up in the front again?? So I dropped back and decided to turn the steps into an interval session. Got the hammer down and off we went. Wonder Woman and her gand of buds somehow ended up behind me and were yelling some serious encouragement. So we upped the ante again. Must have got up there at an average of about 32 (still not as good as Trubie with his 34 ave, but getting there.

Magic ride. Really great. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Sounds good Slave! Glad to see you are getting back to the "Truck Chasing Slave". ;)

Had a great evening. Tequila's outnumbered the beers. TT will be interesting!

Oh no! Bjarne is going to send me home!

So like WTH happened. I arrived at Xumbugs at 6:45.(Despite the hangover.) No team ASGR members in attendance.

Confusion reigned supreme when the first bunch left and then even more confusion when the second bunch left. Do I wait, chase and catch up? What?

Phoned Andy and got voice mail. So I tried to chase the bunch but left it too late and ended up turning around and going home. Climbed Camaro on seriously sore legs and gave up half way for a rest.

Hope you okes enjoyed your ride.

thanks for the ride this am guys (kid, hummy and andy)

interesting stats for the TT but enjoyed it nonetheless

next one in 8 weeks!! :)

slave , sorry you missed out. we rode so far with the TT that we only got back as far as the Alewynspoort Lido Hill crossing and waited for the bunches to arrive. Remember we said we would either be at X or on the way back towards X somewhere and we will meet up with the bunch and turnaround and join the ride...... sounds familiar?

I went short and did Nampak with a small group.

did 3 seperate rides this morning, and it works out to exactly 3 hrs, 94 k's

was a hard week, but I am 1:05 short according to the programme I'm following for Argus. Gonna have to up the ante next week :(

What a hard weekend of riding!

Yesterday 2 hours (35km) on the MTB.

Today the 20minute Time Trial and then the Bosco Loop. Slave, we met the bunch at the robot where the bunch splits and some go straight while others turn left to go onto the Alwynspoort road.

In the 20 minutes of the TT I managed:

Distance: 14.44km.

Ave Speed: 43.3kph.

Max Speed: 51kph.

Ave Cad: 77rpm.

Max Cad: 119rpm.

Ave HR: 187bpm (93% of max).

Max HR: 194bpm (97% of max).

Cal: 319Cal.

We will have to wait and see they data from Trubie, Kid and Hummy but as far as I understand it the positions were Trubie, me, Kid, Hummy.

Then we did the Bosco Loop. For comparative purposes:

Distance: 68.48km.

Time: 2:23:35.

Cal: 1272Cal.

special mention must go to Ha Ha K for having the balls to go do the DC. Well done young man, we sure would like to hear all about it soon.

Yes, congrats to Ha Ha! We want a full race report please!

Trubie! You still won the TT, by a mere 60 metres!

I will be there on the 23rd Jan! Maybe we can get a full team there for the TT. Make it an ASGR thing. :D In the meantime I will be sticking to the mountains, they hurt less!!

Thanks for ride today guys.

My TT results are a lot better than I thought, I'm a machine that needs to eat more Spanish steak

Slave sorry we missed you.

Could have used your help on the Bosco Loop, the 2 old men (Andy & Hummy) really battled.

Hey Slave, was good to see you Saturday...didn't even ride today as I got home yesterday and felt like death. Recovering though I think :)

Hope you enjoyed the victory up the steps while you can...aint gonna happen again anytime soon :P

Hey team. No biggie. My legs were feeling shattered from yesterday anyway. So a bit of a rest today wasn't an altogether bad thing. Plus I was celbrating my new found freedom last night. Well, the celebration started before the freedom was official, but now it is. So I had a bit of a hangover to boot.

@Wonder Woman. The crown of King of the stpes is currently firmly on Trubies head. It was take some serious competition to remove it.

Slave, congrats on your freedom.

Kid and Hummy, how far did you go in the TT?

Kid, Hummy and I went flat out in the TT, you obviously didn't. Or you ate Spanish Steak last night!

I have been in conversation with Ha Ha Kieran and we have decided that Team ASGR is entering the DC next year!

We need another 5 riders.
