We rode out to 3 Rivers, however a huge storm started approaching, 4 of us carried on the rest turned back, not sure who the one guy was riding with us, Derek from Tony Impey, Deon myself and 1 other. It rained for a bit, but it was actually pleasant riding through the rain until a truck nearly took us out on the steps.

 

As for Andy, I am also from the North ;-), but the Southerners can ride :-)

 

Sensible man! Some of them can ride very well.

Yip I was there and so was Trubie.

I was riding the Merida & wearing the Scott kit, Trubie was the big fella riding the Pinarello with the Cycle Lab kit.

You & I rode at the back of the bunch for a while.

I was only too keen to turn back, my legs have been on holiday and I didn't know if I was going to manage the planned loop.

 

The other guy that you rode with is Mark, also a nice guy.

 

Heard you guys got a nice shower after your pit stop ?

 

BTW, Paul's (other guy on the P2C) bottle holder broke on the way back, seems those things are really crappy.

 

You ride a Merida but wear Scott kit? You see why you need Northern friends! To teach you how to dress with style!

 

After today's ride I don't know so much about the DC.

I took some serious strain and we were going slowly, also run out of food & liquids.

 

Are you having doubts about the DC? Even Slave is riding the DC. You should ride with him!

Tomorrow I'm riding out to Brits (only 80k from home), were I'll meet up with the family. Will most probably eat too much, but I'm getting a lift back to Jhb. Should be well fed for my long(ish) run on Boxing Day.
