Cyclewizz Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Went out at 6am to do my 1st ride of 2011 and starting from scratch after being off the bike for a week with serious Sinus.Got a bit of rain in Alberton North and was in 2 minds about joining the group for the Nampak loop but when I got there I saw there were a lot more people than I thought. So I headed out with the one and only, King Of the Steps aka Slave, Slave did the pacing and I just chilled in the group but then when we got to the steps Slave wanted to do intervals and the next thing Slave went to the other side of the road never to be seen again.Slave where the hell did you go ?Where did the whole group go ?I looked back & it was just me.Then as I got back to Xumbugs it started raining again and to finish the ride off I got stung by a bee just before I got home. Besides the rain & the bee sting it was a nice 81km. Can definitely feel the extra weight and the lack of fitness.Now what's that stuff that Spaz riders take to loose weight ????
MDW Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Sorry I missed u guys I had a hellish night with a mosquito my alarm never went off and I went out at 7 did just 4 hours, the wind was howling but not behind me unfortunately I feel nice and pap now recovery time will be out on tuesday again let me know when u guy are riding and what time. Tommorrow swim and run :-)
Slave Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 Sorry we missed u Big S.Slave and me waited till about 5:04 and then took off. 4:14 mins (124k's) later I was home again Nice ride Slaveman, thanks!Great start to the year I think Trubie that any thanks due are due to you. I just tagged along. Pit we missed Big S by two minutes. It was an enjoyable ride although I battled to finish my ride with the climb back up the Mondeor / Ridgeway Ridge. In the end I mangaged to clock 110, the last 8 kays of which were slow. Kid, I dropped to the back of the pack up the steps just for the hell of it and they were going too slowly so I chased you down again. Got onto you wheel just before the bridge but I was pretty blown then. It was a big gap to close down. And then I stopped at the traffic light to wait for another chap but the wait was too long. So I just went Solo for the rest of the ride. This morning commute was great. Seems the time is now consistantly around 40 minutes. For those I have't had the honor of greeting and wishing yet..... HAPPY NEW YEAR. Have a great day all. Time to work, work, work.

jasper Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 The Helivac Marshals will be on the Alberton South Rides as from the 15th Jan 2011. We will be marshalling at the Nylstroom Druiwefees this coming Saturday the 8th. Keep an eye out for us. As from February 2011, we will be marshalling the Alberton Training Rides every Saturday, unless there is an Cycle Race on the same day.
