I needed a recover ride dude and the only thing I missed out on is being able to walk today. The legs feel better and I'm bracing myself for Wed. But I see read that you've changed tactics, you planning a quick ride (approx 45km) with Nuwbie on Saturday and then on Sunday you going to ride with the big boys - good stuff

When he says a quick ride around the short loop, trust me, only the time is short. (well for me it feels more like a lifetime of hell trying to hang on, white knuckle sh!t.) Looks are decieving. What bugs me is that you say things about me , that make other people (hubbers) laugh - AT ME! When they do meet me finally, they laugh so much they cannot ride their bikes......, and will soon start accusing you of fibbingOx - The Southern training is what you need, that MTB'ing is for softies Kid - man I'm impressed with that 32 ave bru, keep up the good work, you and the youngster will make a good combo soon

Nuwbie has shouted at me so I'll be serious for 10 whole minutes. (Ahh kuk man. Never going to happen.) So I have no real plans for Monday (I assume you planning something for Monday.) We really should make use of the day and ride. Owlman gave me some 9 speed STI's and a 9 speed casette so I was faffing about in the garage until late last night early this morning, fartarsing with the conversion. Now I just need any excuse to ride. So what you think we should do, assuming you want to come out here and ride? Dunno, I get foncused sometimes all the time.) Since I can't cycle, I have to get people out of the competition one way or another. I have found it very difficult to laugh and do anything at the same time so, make 'em laugh and you neutralise the competition. They fall off their bikes laughing and you just ride away into the sunset with the girl. (Oh sh!t, wrong forum for that one.) I did a rain dance some time ago when the flower boys were taking strain in one of the tests. Bit late for the junk to arrive now. Like WTF. As Lance says, "It's not about the bike." BS man, a cool bike does help, but you also have to be fit and have to have good legs. I'm often tempted to "tjune the dudes" when I pass them on their full carbon bikes (not that this happens too often) and say "dude, if I can do this on this bike, imagaine what I could do on your bike." Reality check in isle 6. Nee osman, I don't think BB has any jealousy towards my farm gate. Not too many people jealous of a 900 year old trusty rusty peejou.

I have to start upgrading my 8 speed Peejou farmgate also. Although I only recently upgraded to 8speed. Anybody that want to donate me a 9 speed groupset for my Peejou farmgate?Maybe we can form a Peejou farmgate club in Alberton. I saw a red one few weeks back at Xumbugs. I enjoyed the ride on Sunday Slave, You're just too good for me up the steps. Have to do a lot of hill training to keep up with all the fast guys on this forum.
Slave Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Tyx, that was a good ride. Glad you enjoyed it. Ox and I are planning a nice slow ride for Monday. Maybe 80 to 90 k's depending on where we meet and depart from. This will be dictated by who rides along. Care to join in. Route will prob'ly be down steps, out past SBR, through Henley and home again. Don't worry about speed and gears. there is actually very little diffs between 8 and 9 speed anyway. Still have the same big and small cogs on back, same Chain rings up front so very little diffs. I was just lucky to have got the bits from my bud to do the change and the 8 speed ended up on Teeny's bike. He already has the gears, just not the shifters until now. Saturday and Sunday, I'm doing the short loop with the fast bunch with a bit extra thrown in to take my route to 60 k's both days. Monday, nice slow recovery ride for about 80 to 90 k's.
