ya, that wasme.

was greeting a fellow hubber. they had just finished their road ride.

mtb does def add to leg strength, most of the time your speed is so slow, you just gotta keep going tho. also got quite dirty which was fun.

just borrowing a bike for now, but also thinking of getting one soon...

smiley36.gif racman... the trick is to go on a ride that you know I'll be attending..  then you'll be safe cos I've NEVER averaged more than 28 smiley2.gif

spas09, I'm working on this lot..... slowly but surely I'll reel them in and soon they'll all be on 'The dark side' (at least occasionally).

I'm working my magic on GO, S2L and JL at the moment.... they're tough 'nuts' to crack but I'll persevere smiley2.gif

(busy building my dark side ride as well ... but that will be a little while still. After Kremetart Tour)

Why do you want to ride on creamy tarts when you can ride on muddy trails? smiley17.gif

Racman, we all enjoy the rides. When we have slowpokes like me along, Nuwbie gets to wait at the top of the hills for me or GOv2.0 gets to give me a shove to get me going faster.

We always regroup at the top of hills before going on with the next section of the ride.

Moenie penniek nie, ask Nance, there is always someone with her and yet we still all get out of the ride, exactly what we need. Nuwbie does hill accelerations and then waits at the top. GO just shoves you along to give you a bit of speed. Ox, well he just chases like mad to get to the front, then he backs off a bit and goes crazy all over again. He's actually very hard to see because he zips up and down so much and is often a blurred vision of bike and rider.

Kid, klaps the flats and I just smile and wave because I have no idea of WTF is going on. (It also makes people wonder what I've been doing.)

Racman, we never leave our troops behind. Come along, enjoy the ride. If you don't try, you'll never know and if you're like Nuwbs, well, he just puts in far better performances than he lets on and we'll have a new dark horse.

Racman, bring that stealth rocket of yours up to JHB, you know that things in CT are very layed back that's why the stealth isn't going fast.

If you going to be riding the BMC well that's still got a bit of GreyOwl's DNA on it so it's bound to go like the clappers.

Besides, you already bleeding, what else can go wrong ?

PS, we do have a few hospitals nearby and every now and then a doc joins us but lately the doc's been playing in the water.

Where you stay when in JHB ?

Sorry for the Hijack: Slave, did you manage to find a frame for Walter? I'm booked off from cycling by my Doctor. Said I got inflamation in my upper left leg. Hope to be on the bike next week.

Short answer - No

Long Answer- I have responded to this in the thread I started, requesting bits and pieces in the hope that it serves as a friendly reminder so we can get the ball rolling again.

Hey Nance, not so much of the tough "nut" if you please. "Crazy nut" is more appropriate.smiley36.gif

So when are we going to do an 'easy' 40km ...? Coz I know of somebody who could get a road bike this weekend and who'll need a gentle introduction to the 'light' side smiley2.gif

Are we going 'helter-skelter' on 9 May? smiley4.gif

The South will never have a light side - unfortunately. Not with the type of characters that loom on this thread
