I am eating my favourite form of protein - peanut butter! whilst waiting for the diet docs to call back LOL

Be careful with the peanut butter, there are a lot of fats in there as well...

Eg: Nola' Yum Yum (what I have here...) per 100grams:

20.4g protein

56.2g fat (more than half of it is fat!!!)

Most probably because of the 0% cholestrol claim (as do Nola)

Have a look at http://img266.imageshack.us/my.php?image=20040831newlid7pa.jpg which shows Black Cat at 50.2g grams of fats per 100g of peanut butter, better yeah but only numerically, still > 50% fats

The body will typically try to take care of itself, so if you're training pretty hard, but only eating 3 meals a day, it's not going to step up the metabolism markedly, since there isn't enough fuel to sustain it between those meals. Give it some time, but try eating the same total volume per day, but divided into maybe 5 meals. The body realizes there's gonna be more fuel coming shortly, so is happy to ramp that metabolic rate ... but don't make the mistake of increasing your current daily volume!

I went to a dietician recently and was told to have either peanut butter(sugar free one), nuts, avocado or olives on a daily basis. All of these contain fats but they are good fats.

That is true yes, but like everything else in life moderation is the keyword! From what I can remember it is one or two teaspoons a day .... so just do not go mad on the 'healthy' foods

Agteros, yip, everything in moderation. It is 1 tablespoon of peanut butter per day, or a handful of nuts, or half a small avocado. Can't remember the olives quantity but think it is 6 or 8.

Agree with Fand. I went to see a dietitian almost 3 months ago - and have lost almost 8kg's. Feeling fantastic.

First visit was R200. We go for "weigh-ins" every two weeks' date=' R20 per visit.

Is it possible for you to maybe give me your dietitian's details.  I would like to go see one myself - not just anyone, one that's recommended by a cyclist.

try the organic peanut butter from woolworths. have to keep it in refrigerator once opend, it becomes hard this way but its perfect for smoothies.
