PnP Fast One

How does the times of the PnP Fast One compare to the 94.7,

For example, if you did a 3:00, 3:30 or 4:00 in the 94.7, and all things being equal (fitness especially!) what kind of time can you hope for in the Fast One?

Is it possible to bring this back to a percentage like 10% faster?

I did a 2h32 94.7 and then a 2h12 H2H a few months later. Bear in mind this was 2002 and the routes and distances have changed a bit since then. I think the H2H was 95kms that year.

A good idea would be to go look at what time the elites or VA guys rode at last years 94.7 and this years Flat one, fast one what ever they decide to call it. I think this will give you the most suitable information to work back to a %.

Here goes the diffs:

Year Race Pos Cat Time Distance Speed % Difference Avg Diff
2008 94.7 1 Overall
02:03:39 94.7 45.95

2008 94.7 1 M 40+ 02:16:20 94.7 41.68

2008 94.7 1 M 35+ 02:03:39 94.7 45.95

2008 Fast One 1 Overall
02:06:50 103 48.73 6.03
2008 Fast One 1 M 40+ 02:20:13 103 44.07 5.75 5.89
2008 Fast One 1 M 35+ 02:06:50 103 48.73

which means that the overall speed increase is a little less than what initially thought.

It all depends on who you ask. A few years ago I did a 5:30 94.7 and then a few months later I did 3:15 at the H2H. smiley36.gif

Sounds like me, last year (my very first and second race)

Serious plodders get a much bigger benefit timewise than the elites on this race - so it depends how good a cyclist you are as to what the differential will be. The worse, the better if you see what I mean.

Last yr 3hr 94.7; 2:39 Fast One.

BUT this yr's 94.7 course was around 5-7 mins faster than last yr because of course changes and (if there ealry enough) the highway conditions were better.
