Select 'South Africa' from the drop-down menu in the upper right corner to display VAT-free prices.

There is no import duty on bike parts and 15% duty on complete bikes. South African VAT gets charged at 14%.

No idea about time of shipping.

Many of the questions have been answered in detail under the TechQA section if I remember correctly. What I can confirm is no VAT charged by CRC, but you will pay VAT in SA plus 10% on the 14% VAT (So prices quoted ex. VAT). Funny Value Added Tax, what value did SARS add to the goods you have just bought?

No duties on parts, but clothing big time.

From the vibe on the web, very reliable, just SA not reliable, eg. Customs/Post Office. There is the Royal Post option I think which is the cheapest, but no tracking once it leaves UK, hence you could lose your toys.

I ordered my groupset from them in December, delivery took around 10 workdays before the Post Office courier delivered in my hands. Just remember to have the cash on you when you have to pay the courier the VAT, they don't phone you before hand to arrange a delivery time they just rock up at your place..

I have ordered from them twice and both times the order arrived in about 10 days.  You save a bit on the VAT.  One of my orders got custom duties slapped on but it was still cheaper than buying from the local ShimaNO! agency.

I saw a pair of shoes at my LBS. CRC were about 30% cheaper. When I weighed up the cost of duty and vat my LBS were only slighter costlier. I returned to my LBS, had a bit of a negotiation, paid up, and left the store with my shoes and peace of mind knowing that I can return them if I have a problem.

However if I was buying costly parts, and didn't need them the next day, I'd probably use CRC. Why? Well because I often feel that I'm way overpaying for stuff from the LBS. There's no consistancy. It's like going from petrol station to petrol station and the price varies by 100%.

If customs classify the shoes as normal shoes, duty + vat on the shoes will be +/- 40%

If you can convince customs to classify the shoes as "spiked athletic shoes" the duty is much less. I'm not sure if you will be able to negotiate with the clearing agent if you ship via the post office, but it is possible if you ship with a courier like UPS.
