Hi

I have a question on Fox Forx. I've read a few reviews on Terralogic - varying from very good to very poor.

Fox vs Rockshox - probably a loaded question - but is Fox worth the price ?

bombs away....

A friend of mine got rid of his Terralogic. It let him down in sprint fininishes when it gets "confused"and become to soft. Dont know in latest models if its still a problem.

seriously rather go for a rock shock i rode a terralogic fox and it locked out on me on every rocky downhill i came to at the 2007 sabie experience but was extremely soft on the uphills

very plush ride while it works but when it doesnt then you have issues

RockShox are number one man. They are the best shocks ever for the best prices.

Kindly justify your response.Question

I agree RS are good, in certain models only and simply average in others

Read this thread.

"Last year, or maybe two years ago this could've been an easier depate. Read that RS and Fox are too close to call when it comes to performance, but that RS keeps that up for longer and with less TLC than Fox. And I found that to be true. Their U-Turn forks are noticably smoother through the travel and Fox's Talas. Fox's 140mm forks with 32mm lowers are quite flexy when pushed hard.

But things have changed. A lot. Manitou forks are light and plenty stiff plus reliability is where it should be. DT's take over of Pace have sorted out their issues, Marzocchi have some great AM+ forks on the market, Magura has always been reliable but for '09 their forks will drop some weight to bring it in-line with some of the best out there...who else is left worth mentioning?

This is great news though. This means you can go with whatever brand you prefer and still get a great fork. Viva la choice.

Price and back-up service will probably be the biggest factors.

Recent shopping for a fork revealed this which looks to be accurate difference acros the range:

RS = R 6400

Manitou = R 7600

Fox = R 8500

DT = R 12 500

Magura = Couldn't get a price due to supplier not carrying stock

Marzocchi: R 8000"

Terralogic only gets confused if it hasn't had its services.

I have been riding mine for 3 years, at the end of Y2 it did that, I had it serviced, another year of perfect performance later.

An awesome fork.
