I stood in it for about 40 mins, and I saw 2 people leave in that time. Organizers are worried about low numbers, but when they have customers at their doorstep, they don't bother serving! The guy behind me also had the same problem I did on the net. "Transaction Declined". I blamed myself, thinking my card had expired (01/09), but it actually only expires at the end of the month. His wasn't near expiring anyway, but the same error. So in the end of the day, they had a problem with checkout on the net, mad us wait longer than what everyone thought was fair and got charged extra. Let the race run smoothly, and I will have forgotten about this by Sun afternoon

Wrote race office a email and up to now they have not responded. I entered EM seperately and added myself as her tandem partner. She is now the "A" number and I am the "B" number. That means she will have to Captain the Tandem on Sunday and I get a chance to be Stoker and do nuthing!!!!!!!!!! Also had the same problem with the guys behind the counter. He did not know where to find our number or was not interested and sent me to the long queue in the passge. Luckily there was this beautifull young lady with brains that took pity on us and got our number for us. Wunder where Aunty Tanya got the ex lobotomy crowd from????????

I am sure it was you (haven't met you before, but have seen some pics), your wife had a pink top on. I was in the queue in the passage and saw you go back and forth. I also saw the "eye candy" help you. She was running up and down, helping who she could. She was the only one really being pro-active. I wanted to say high, but wasn't sure if it was you.

Jules Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Bwahahaha! I was there this morning. I think there is something terribly wrong with the computer system of the Winning Time/PPA cartel. They wanted to seed me in D even though I came in the top 20 overall last year! After pointing this out to the lady there, she asked her computer again and it spat out a B. Why do I feel embarrassed trying to explain that I'm faster than B? I held my ground and eventually she agreed to "manually override" the computer. The funniest was Grey Owl. They seeded him R! He was telling the assistant: "I've raced two road world championships and you want to see me R!" She just looked blankly back at him. Simon, I hope you came right with a re-seeding.

Jules ... the WT seedings only favours the Western Province riders; i.e. the PPA members as they have so many racers to improve their seeding; the most fair seeding would be to take championchip results also into consideration ... Problem is also that CSA is driven out off CT ... yet a large % of the Argus entry is from Gauteng ....KlapperKnop2009-01-23 02:53:49

It's such a mission to rush to get to cycle lab in my lunch hour and then it's such a dissapointment when you get there and you only collect your NUMBER No goodie-bag, nothing.... makes you wonder if it's really worth it at the end of the day... maybe it's better to collect it on race day.
