MTB is like a TT (Not a TTT!!!)' date=' everyone for himself and may the best rider win, if someone pulls a dirty one on you then you reply by out riding him fair and square....yes ride hard and dont give an inch but keep it fair.

Not sure when you last did a marathon at the front, SwissVan, but the racing up there is tactical. Maybe you're thinking about XC racing where team tactics are minimal.

Yoh is this still going on? ... Been and gone for decent ride already' date=' got switched by a squirrel if you can believe that![/quote']

so what did you do to the squirrel?

They should both be disqualified. It's a race' date=' and rules should be made and enforced. However, if it's not a race and someone does that, then they deserve to eat dirt. Look at surfing; if you go and knock someone off their wave you'll get your lights punched out, plain and simple.

All in all though, hearing this is poor form, and it's exactly why I couldn't give a rats ass about ever riding a race. People become so obsessed with winning and glory that they forget about the spirit of the sport.

Thank god some people become obsessed with winning. Its called sport!! Imagine 7 channels on DSTV called Superhobbies????

Gee, you don't say. How about playing by the rules and winning fair and square then? Pushing someone off their bike is really fair.  Unless of course the race rules don't say anything about physical attacks on other riders.

Nice name PuttyWink

i have read most of the replys to the whole Kevin vs Brendan thing and i think it is not to cool what happened.

But i have own observation about the whole thing. they passed me on about 42 km and i saw the following, 2 DCM guys in front, Kevin and another on his side. Kevin was boxed in. now i know it was maybe just there but a friend got passed earlier and saw the same thing. Now that would cause a guy to get a bit frustrated

Maybe he was super pissed and turned in front of Brandon and then the whole thing unfolded, but i must say waiting for Kevin to get back up was pretty cool.

2teeeth your comments are exactly what some of us are saying. No one knows what exactly happened except them and so why dont we just let racing be racing. If there is tension between riders let them sort it out. Like most European Pro's DO!!!!!

i think the whole thing - regardless of who's right or wrong - adds spice to the season. gonna be a fun year.

ClapClapClap Agreed, now imagine they held hands all the way then hugged as they crossed the line. NOT THE SAME HEY SPORTS FANS!!!!

so what did you do to the squirrel?

Rode over him, smeared myself in mountain mud, well farm mud actually and made a sacrifice to the Greek gods.

Later I had a braai

It was 2003 at the Pretoria Nationals. Happened to be watching. Bunnie Quit late in 2004, but he actually rode Nationals at Jonkershoek this year (he studies at Stellenbosch). Finished 17th if I recall correctly.
