Was in Bearing Man earlier to day to pick up some bearings for my DT Swiss hub, and I was wondering if it would be possible to purchase bicycle chain from them?

They supply other industrial chain, so why not bicycle??

Any ideas or thoughts on this??

There is a technical difference between bicycle chain and equivalent industrial/automotive chain.

Although you can get an industrial chain with the same pitch and width, bicycle chain is designed to be laterally flexible whereas industrial chain is rigid.

Our chains are made to derail, the others are made not to detail. Your car's valves prefer it that way.

On the other hand, single speed, track bikes, BMXs etc. If the chain fits, wear it.

To give you an idea, I had a new wipperman chain on my dura ace drive train. Very expensive and high quality BICYCLE chain

Shifting was sloppy, 11 teeth gear jumped, and ultimately the chain broke after maybe 1000k. Fitted Ultegra chain and bob's your uncle - all shifting issues sorted
