Skewers??

they are the thingies that goes though your axles and clamps your wheels to the frame/fork.

They keep the wheel connected to the bike. It basically holds the wheels in place.

 

The red pointy-up-thingy in the pic that says "Hope" is a skewer. Ask away. We all have to learn...

O okay well i looked at the planet x carbon wheels and in the description they said at the end "including brake pads for the carbon rim.Excluding skewers."

That's 'cos with fancy lightweight wheels, one often wants fancy,

lightweight skewers - not the standard steel ones.

 

Marco convinced me to buy some when I bought my Zipps. Larney

titanium ones. Nice & light. Probably save me the weight of a sock...
