yup Sabre, gotta admit from the times i've marshalled with club100 the support vehicles (and the groups) really don't seem to care whether or not peeps are club members - if they see a cyclist at the side of the road they check if all is ok.

The Tandem was so broken and it is so long...... all they could offer was a tow in service!!!!!!!! ....... but they saved the day by taking us back to where we were parked. We had to walk past the lion enclosure and I did not like the look in that lion's eyes!!!!!!!

In a time when job losses and retrenchments are an all too regular occurrence you may want to consider yourself lucky to be in a position to earn a salary and consider how well you will do next year with all the training.

Just some feedback. Company has decided the following:

I will be allowed to go to the Argus. I would however need to spend some time in the Cape Town using my 3G to do work but we are trying to settle all the difficulties before I leave. If they urgently need my assistance they will fly me back to Jozi to come and assist.

Wife's happy, I'm happy, Boss is happy... Thumbs%20Up

If you need a place to stay, we cannot go anymore and has booked a 4-bed self-catering hotel for a week! If you would like to take it over, let me know please!

Agreed, but employers take advantage of this situation and it is morally wrong. Are they going to reimburse you for the costs you have had to lay out for the Argus. Accomodation, travel, ride entry fees and all that other stuff?

Yes, we are lucky to be employed in this tough world, but hey, taking adavantage and twistiing stuff around is just faulty.

Edit.I just jumped up on my soapbox before I completed the post. Goodsolution but still technically wrong. When you on holiday / leave / away from office legally, they suppsoed to leave you alone. Like rest is rest and work is work. The still taking advantage IMO.
