I've decided to take the plunge and convert to tubeless...

I am currently looking at the following 2 tyres:

1. Maxxis CrossMark UST (for front and rear)

2.1 Continental ProTection Explorer (front)

2.2 Continental ProTection Vapor (rear)

I have heard some very good things about both, but would like to gauge what you guys think with regards to these two sets

Thanks

Friends of mine are very happy with the durability and performance of the Crossmark. I'm considering Crossmark at back and TT Larson on front.

Can't comment on the Conti's you mentioned, but I raved about the Speed Kings last year, during Sani, but since then changed my view as I'm prone to punctures with them and the compound seems to be softer than the Crossmark.

As I said I don't know the conti's you mentioned but I do think the Speed Kings are actually comparible to the Crossmark as they are both all terrain tyres

Bro Theres been a million Pages written on this topic and Im going to tell you that It seems the verdict has been:

Contis for pure performance & cornering grip and all condition friendly

Maxxis for Duraility/relieability, dry weather.

I have my favorite . but Thats me.

Some guys are saying they wont trust the Contis' sidewalls on the rocky trails in and around cape town, I ride here and Find since the terrain is mostly rocky and asphalt like grit on the trails, even when Its wet in the winter Its not to slimy.. I ride Crossmarks and am very happy.

I fully understand that these "crossmarks" wil not grip quite as well in the red clay that guys find in other regeons... I have not ridden the Contis so I cannot say give more than this.

Just took the plunge (again) this morning... Have been bugged by a few flats on my last four rides...

Will test them at Sabie!  Hopefully no more flats, cause I hear they're a *&%% to get off.
