I almost got hit today

I probably would have been hit today by a motorist! I was riding up Constantia nek from valley road and just before the 1st corner by Phantom corners the car behind me slowed to overtake - I was to the left and riding alone but the road is quite narrow. The car behind that -I think a Merc ML 500 also slow and the car behind that went straight into the Merc! So if a motorist is so distracted for what ever reason to drive striaght into the back a large Merc ML 500 what chance would I have had if the 1st car had not slowed? Conclusion we will never be able change stupid motorist!

Much the same as you will never change the mindset of rude, arrogant, littering cyclists.

Very glad you you weren't hit.

I agree fully.

If you ride along side the road - all it takes is for a motorist to take his eyes off the road, change a cd or look in the rear view mirror and *BANG* there you go...

It's not the changing of CD that worries me, but the amount of people that SMS whilst driving!!

This is 1000 times worse than talking on the phone!! Really grates me!!!Angry

glad that you're ok.  i have a little policy - as i'm lane splitting in traffic if i see and erratic driver and get to them to find that they are sms'ing i indicate this to the drivers around them - everyone has a good laugh and the idiot feels like the idiot they are when they realise what's going on
