As far as I know the ones that you remove the front wheel are cheaper. But the other option is more convenient though.
Just be careful if its the bolt option' date=' put a washer between the bolt and the dropout, you don't want a bolt turning on the fork's dropout, damages the dropout. That's why I prefer QR.
We bolted the roof rails onto the trailers roof, but I have seen one where the whole roof rack disengages from the trailer's roof, just can't remember how it worked.

Got the trailer' date=' got the roofrails.  Now just need the rack that bolts onto the rails ( Please, please, not through the roof/lid of the trailer Shocked )   So you recon the best is the ones where you bolt the fork to the rack, wheel off, not like the first pic where you keep both wheels on ? [/quote']

Are you looking for something like this? I have 4.. Got them from the UK. Worked well on my trip down to the Argus but dont have the car anymore and new car is way too high to fit on?

Stop messing around with rusty Venters. Get the Rolls Royce of trailers' date=' the Alustar from Multitrail.

It can be had with a killer top rack that is strong enough to carry Venters on top. Just combine it with your favourite type of bike rack. Thule Proride or similar.

So what your suggesting is that I give my venter that I have away to charity and go out and buy me a new trailer and rack.   Intesting, anybody want a venter, I want to go spend some money ?   Confused

O and another thing, this is almost like conti's bodybuilding thingies, being strong does not make it not being fugly... Dead

Ok, so this is what I gave to start off with ( if no one wants to take it off my hands so that I can go and buy a better one to carry my bikerack Tongue ).  The rails is rather fixed on the lid.  So I want to build a rack for 4 bikes that fits onto the current rails at the front and back with no additional fittings through the lid...

So the options seems to be the diy rack like this from speed devil...  Which will cost , R 220 * 4 = R 880 for the upright bicycle holders, then comes the steel and paint or galvanising.

Or I can use the racks like this from Sabre or the ones from holdfast ( 1000 * 2 ), but still have to make a "base rack" to fit it ontop of since it is obviously shorter than the lenght of the trailer

but all of these options is heading towards +- R 2,000, then you might as well buy from hanler or strides.   There must be a cheaper way in making this yourself Confused

Have you tried strides.co.za!!

Yup, the last two pics I posted on page 2.  Stunning rack, here is the prices...

1 x 4 bike R2958-00

1 x 5 bike R3138-00

1 x shocks R 390-00

1 x install R 350-00

1 x del/coll R 200-00

But he also makes new holes through the lid and I can't get myself to do this yet. Embarrassed

something to look out for ... make sure the skewers for the front fork are offset with regard to one another, either by height or by position on the trailer else the handle bars of the bikes bump into one another
