Then a fire on Sir Lowries Pass and now again a fire on Lourensford/helberberg!! All in two weeks !! Its just frinkin madness. Rant over - dont feel better. Off to help. Slowbee2009-02-18 04:19:21

No matter what you do it is always wrong. To much water to little. To late at the fire and so it goes on Also it is not widely known that fire fighters are supposed to be relieved every two hours and they must get a lt of milk every two hours. This does not always happen. And get in a situation where a few farms are burning, and everyones farm is suddenly top priority. And when you are finished you get no thank you or anything..

Woke up this morning and there was ash all over the garden. Its very surreal. The sad part is the smoke is so thick that the choppers cant get in.

Blood red sun, spoilt by the thought that it takes a lot of destruction to get so much smoke. Oh, and an Audi almost burned out in the Neelsie parking lot in Stellenbosch. Silly season?

PhilipV Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I don`t know hey, sometimes the logs can smoulder for weeks,what bothers me is that it keeps flaring up in the Lourensford-Vergelegen area. Is the smoke still thick in Somerset West?

I live about 60 odd kms away from S/West in Brackenfell and my car was covered in ash this morning The smoke was so thick this morning you couldn't even see the sun This is really bad
