Ok, if you insistWink

On the start line, Tony Roberts (our comm) came to us and asked us to prove that ladies could actually race. So when they set us off, I went off fast, and Lilo and Sue came with. We got a 200m gap on the ladies quickly and we kept going. Over the first rollers we couldn't see them anymore, so we decided to push hard get a good gap on them. We got 2min on them before the left turn towards Riebeek Kasteel. We hit the climb with 2:30 split. We were hoping to stay away, but shortly after A and some tandems passed us, the chasing group reconnected - with 28km to go. We had a few attacks but all were brought back. Jade Roberts doing her best to break us. In the last 7km, 4 of us lost touch, but were able to fight to catch back (watch Supercycling in a months time to see that!!) At 500m to go Cathy made a false sprint, and the game was on. Jennie took the sprint, with Jade and Cathy close behind. Kasha followed and I came in 5th. Thrilled and exhausted!!

THINK BIKE!

20090221_065545_0D2E1155.JPG

These guys were fantastic. PPA should have got them involved long ago.

But some motorists just can't be helped. Angry

The bike marshal with our bunch almost got taken out from behind.

The bunch was cycling inside the yellow line on the R44. Marshal was next to us on a large bike, reflective vest, hazards on. Can't miss him you think.

A Toyota Corolla came past at high speed and had to slam on brakes to the point of just about locking wheels to avoid rear ending the motor bike...
