Looks like Cycle Lab will be taking this up with acsis. From the Cycle

Lab newsletter:

More recently i.e. yesterday my wishes go

out to Mathew Merrington who was switched badly by an ACIS rider 30km from the

finish of yesterday race in the Elite group. Mat has earned himself a range of

serious roasties and they are extremely painful. I know having had a big one

myself but nothing compares to this. Thankfully and amazingly nothing is broken

and hopefully with the right treatment [clear seal dressings are the only

solution] he should be mended in time for the Argus. Given your efforts lad and

especially following last week win in the ?A? group I am sure you will bounce

back and have a great Argus because you deserve it. We will as a club be taking

up the incident with ACIS although regrettably with such things anything can

happen in a bunch and this will not be easy but we do have to flag the poor

riding and hopefully they will address it. Get well soon Mathew I hope by the

time you read this some of the pain has subsided.

OK, have read the last 13 odd pages of this and can agree on certain points. This is not a race thing, please stop trying to put it down to that, everytime that someone brings up colour, someone else shouts racist. For crying out loud.

I have been clipped by many different folks in my almost 17 years on a bike. Some pros, some amatuers. don't think it is a colour thing, it is a skill/awareness thing. Yes the Acsis guys seem to have a bad rep, i cannot comment on that as i have never been around them, but there are some folks that I would have loved to slap more then once.

However, sympathies, those roasties look Horrible, hope they heal quict and that you are back on the bike Quick fast. All the best for recovering.
