Did you get sorted. I wrote a app to convert tcx to hrm and then a second app(Some other dude wrote this app). that will upload the hrm to polar.

I wrote the converter for my forerunner305, but it should be ok for most tcx files. I also hard coded some of the settings, but I am sure to can update if required.

Picked up on this now.

My solution: Sporttracks has "export to HRM" add-on (free in old ST version). Export the file, import into PPT (optional). Then there's the above-mentioned free tool that can upload HRM's to the Polar website.

That said, I stopped doing it a long time ago. Too much hassle for too little gain. SA-Active is free and you're up to the max in fitness points before you blink your eyes.

I emailed Discovery about this issue and their reply was no you can't do it. You have to upload directly from the watch and all manual entries are not accepted. Asked if they will ever support Garmin and I was told to get a polar. I was going to tell them to get with the times, but kept my mouth shut.

If you have converted it you can upload all your files 1 shot with this app:

I just upload my results once a month. Much less effort.

Works really well once you have converted your garmin file into the correct format. Also vitality points are allocated with no problems unless you have reached the paltry limit set by discovery. I mean, exercise limits reached in 4 months? What a joke.

but at least you continue earning bonus points! plus you can upload to your spouse if she cant upload her exercises.

I have uploaded many rides and I did receive my points. From a upload perspective they can not detect it as the data is sent from Polar to them.

+1 on this. Getting it into the website is the "trick" - they simply take everything from there. The fact that they're not aware that it can't be done differently, doesn't mean it can't be done differently. (Because the website is supposed to only take the workouts directly from devices.)

That said, I have seen funnies in my data, esp wrt speed - it may have been the export I used that stuffed it ever so slightly.

My next business plan is to make a polar heartrate monitor file generator, and sell it to fat tannies who want to get points while they each chips and watch TV. Bwahahaha.
