Saddle Question for the Weight Weenies?

What is the lightest and yet comfortable road/MTB saddle out there - post weight and approx price please?

yip, I've got a Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbon.

Supposed to weigh 120g, but actually weighs 142g.

Every one I weighed was over 140g

Unbeleivably comfotable for ME. I wouldn't use any other saddle.

Retails at Cyclelab for about R2500, Chris Willemse has them for about R2000

Selle Italia saddles look nice, and come in a whide range of colours. I would suggest that if you are a hardcore weight weenie, weigh before buying one, though - they are optimistic sometimes.

The lightest saddles come out of a company called Becker, full carbon round about the 45 gram mark, these will cost you a couple hundred Euros though. In all honesty I reckon a saddle is the one place on bike where you should consider adding weight, by this I mean that you should go for the most comfortable saddle regardless of the weight. Riding a slightly heavier saddle will make you much faster than if you riding a 70 gram carbon scalpel. Choose you saddle based on comfort and not weight.

I still recommend the SLR.

 

My old Fizik Arione was very comfortable (possibly because everything went numb).

My new Selle Italia is also very comfortable and, as an added bonus, nothing goes numb.

Got an SLR XC Gel Flow and its sweet ! Very comfy on a 3 hour race I did the other day and I weighed it at 180g, not bad.

SLR 125gm without the padding - now about 110gm. Very comfy with Assos shorts.

Couldn't get comfortable on my Arione, and my SLR used to make me numb before I took off the padding.

Now have the SLR XC gel flow on my mtb too.  Love it!
