"It?s a frame you wouldn?t be embarrassed to bring home to mom," an official press release stated."No skeletons in the closet; this isn't some long travel lightweight XC experiment. Think of the Blur LTc as a hairy chested all-mountain ass kicker. In a hockey mask. Holding a chainsaw."

Shiit.....I hate this. A year ago my bike was still cutting edge now its a 3rd generation...

Unless.... mm.. you see Im puzzled.. They are making the nomad shorter travel... and now making the Blur to what seems like a longer travel but carbon.. Where my bike i can honestly say Is "the best of both worlds" these bikes seem to be moving to a hardcore allmountain/freeride type of "middleground" see problem is that I wont want to ride this bike on every outing..Dont get me wrong it looks better than a lot of things I saw lying on clifton this summer, but, I for one, dont want to have to drag what looks like a burly heavy bike up the climbs which often takes the better part of an hour, and then ride down in 10mins ..... but hell let me go look for the review on this before I eat my sox...

I will take that frame put a new white revalation on with lightweight xc wheels and lightweight parts. try and get it down to about 12 kg.. then my friend, I wil take over the worldLOL..

Frame will be lighter than yours, but stiffer. Problem is riding with the carbon devil on your shoulder. I'll take one. Would love to back-to-back it with a Mojo.

Do you have an 08 or 09 Blur, Bos?

I have an 08..

AND I WANT ONE VERY BADLY NOW

I thought that was a lyric fork but I think it is the new revalation or the Pike...So my mentions above were a bit uninformed..

Oh how I hate this. It gives me the feeling of emptyness inside and that my flourishing love affair with my bike may be in trouble..

I think I am a part of a very Unique breed of people and It might have to do with the way I was Bred.

Comming from Dirtjump/street/ trailriding side..slowly getting into longer distances.. now... I am probably closer to the lovechild between XC weight weeny-tech loving mom and a mudloving wistler riding wolverene father...

So I race xc on a 5'' bike and when I get to the trails I can hang with the boys there to..

My word that frame would look nice with white fork.. and those I9 wheels.. the 2nd lightest ones (not the limetde edition ones just the xc race)

White hubs and silver fading to blue spokes... with some white on the bike...mabe seat and grips.

can you see this crow... Better than oh my dare I say..

It's a 09 Revelation on there. For XC/Trail riding it'll do, but for AM riding I will fit a 36 Float and space it down to 140mm. Monster.

LT is very much a 140mm bike, with the Nomad at 160mm. Wouldn't mind a Nomad, but they are freaking expensive and not worth the extra money over a Mbuzi. Spend some time in Tokai dialing in the DHX and the Mbuzi is really flying now. Did some loops with two guys on Bullits...

For sure, You seem the perfect example of AM/ FR. nomad with a lyric or van 36 yes..

Im so light and want lightweight so I will take the revalation.

I keep saying we mus do a ride but When Im actually free one weekend we should realy do one.

Jeesh I wish I couldve been in knysna a bit longer.. Theres so many singletracks that the local people walk to their houses in the hills.. not weeny switchbacks.. Im talking straight down the hill with big erosion everywere! I love riding sh*t like that.

You going to Dirtopia?

Im thinking of going.. It'l be fore the enduro the saturday and to watch the freeride the saturday aavy. then I might come home.

Glad your beast is sorted. I love getting dialled on bikes.. Man its a feeling you cant explain... and all you have to show for it is a stupid grinn that somehow wont go away...

Did 60km in the Baviaanskloof. Was pretty hectic. The middle section of the ride consisted of a 10km uphill. Once at the top we turned around and rode back down. You would have loved it. You should have seen the faces of the people in their 4x4's as we flew past.

Mt Brother has changed his number since december. I will pm his new one to you.

What kind of riding do people do on these kinds of bikes?

Ride everything other then Dirtroads. mostly more technical terain, singletrack etc.

THis bike will handle your local dirtroad just fine, But Ita waisting its travel and real talent there.

bottom line is, Its more aimed at funriding  and riding trails as a pose to outright racing. However If you build this thing up lightweight It will go everywere and do anything and If you make proper use of travel ajusting forks and propedal on the rear shock, you can race this till the cows come home.
