For races like the Epic, how does the Scott RC 10 with Scott TC ( traction control ) 3 modus / LO-TC-AT ? remote reb. Adj. / remote control compare to an Anthem / Top Fuel with a Fox RP2 or RP23

Can't comment on the Anthem or Fuel in comparison to the Genius. However can say the Genius is very comfortable and nimble, having the remote lockout, TC and AT make using the bike very easy. For most of the time I ride in TC, that probably equates to the same feel as the Fox RP's give, then on descents I switch to AT. Climbs lockout if I really need to, but for the most part climb in TC.

I don't think the Genuis is in the same category as the Anthem and Fuel (these are XC bikes), the Genius is more a All Mountain/XC bike, more travel on the front and rear. Ride profile is also different.

The Scott Spark is more in the same category as the Anthem and Fuel.

When you say RC10, that must be a second hand version, is this correct?

I am very happy with my anthem X1.

Very comfortable ride, with quite a slack head angle.

I thing the Scott, has slightly steeper angles, making it a little more racy  (I think??)

personally havent ridden a Trek top fuel, but i did ride an Anthem at the ride b4 u buy. Wasnt that impressed with the ride. The bike felt very hard and cornering on a downhill made me feel jittery. I rode a trance and that felt better but still not as good as the genius does.I ride a genius MC and i love it. Very comfortable and very sure footed. It even feels better than the commencal meta 5.5 did. But that's my opinion.

The GT marathon carbon probably felt the best out of the lot. And it's about R30k newm, which is about the genius 2009 starting price.

gongmech, glad to hear your comments on the Genius MC, makes me happy that I have one. I must agree with you the handling of the MC is excellent, furthermore the speed at which you can slip from Full Travel or TC to Lockout is great. On many technical routes you are descending in Full Travel and then a quick steep climb is thrown at you. Here you quickly flick into lockout and fly over. No need to move you hands off the handle bars.

Something I have picked up on the rear suspension on the Trance is that the pivot points get a lot of exposure to dirt and moisture. My wifes Trance is only 5 months old and I stripped the rear components down to clean them and a number of the bearings were showing signs of damage - rough rotation and rust. I find the MC's pivot points require far less attention and dare I say a better design overall. Considering the Trance and Anthem have almost identical rear suspension if not identical, I suspect the same short fall applies to the Anthem. The suspension also looks to be a more heavy design, plenty extra bits far more bearings...

Rode the Epic this year on an Anthem Advanced, all I can say is FLAWLESS! If you set the suspension up right there is no need for lockout etc. One drawback with the Scott suspension setup is that it relies on you to put the rear shock in Tracloc or Lockout mode to give a stable pedaling platform,so you have to keep track of that on the Anthem, just ride!never ridden a Top Fuel so can't comment
