The gel bottle works brilliantly. No fussing for gel packets in your pocket, and trying to open them with one hand. No sticky packets left in your pocket. No mess, no fuss. Eldron Posted April 29, 2009 Share Shameless Whasp Plug:First used them when I got a free gel free at each of the 3 Jhb Duathlon series races. Used them and loved them. Recently test drove the hip flask at the Panorama Tour and loved it - no mess no fuss no littering and no fiddling with sachets mid race. Colin - the freebies work! linnega Posted May 4, 2009 Share Was/am planning to try the new Whasp gel (PeptoPro) at Comrades, but need to test it on a longish, hard run to make sure there is no stomach effect. Have used Whasp before with no ill effects, so shouldn't be an issue, but not using something new on raceday. Anyway problem is, there is none in KZN it seems. Have tried both Dischems and the biggest LBS's, as well as pharmacies that stock Whaspgel. None seem to know anything about the PeptoPro gel, although they do have a few mismatched loose Whaspgel sachets. Any suggestions, Collin? Super_mil Posted May 4, 2009 Share Hey Linnega I used the Whasp gels, both the regular gels and the PeptoPro gels, this weekend on the Addo 50 miler with no problems at all. I also used the gel flask which is great as you can control your dose. Obviously you would want to make sure that they work with your gut prior to the Comrades. I got the PeptoPro gels from Porstar direct during the Xmas special and have not seem them in stores (unfortunately). Has anyone else noticed that the gels from the bottle taste slightly different (better) than from the sachets? Pitty I've tossed all my slips already There were 3 MTB'ers who did the Addo 100 Miler route as part of a training ride to the Freedom Challenge.
