where in the cape will you fin these things ?

you blokes are really lucky .

slowbee - i'm really lucky to know a master-trailbuilder, master-trailrider and big-dreamer like glen. he dreamt these trails up and built them himselves (hands & sweat) over a few years (at least 2 that i know of).

we'd ride them, and then he'd make changes because it wasn't flowing enough or fast enough or exhilirating enough. I was priviledged to see him at work a few times and even to be allowed to help in a tiny little way with small things - and to see the grins on the builders' faces the weekend that the playstation was invented

i guess if the dream is big enough, and you really want something badly enough, you'll build it yourself - and through your enthusiasm and skill, attract likeminded people to help you build it.

right now, glenn is my favourite person in the whole wide world!

Those pictures look nice and sunny, I Just got from riding the Slaaihoek pass from The Nkomati mine to Boven 'Boven and back to Nkomati. I froze, I was wet and cold, frozen thru. The plan was  to get to the Badplaas/ Machado dorp Road but I chickened out when I crested the pass in thick mist. It gave me a cold 50km though.

There's some at Delvera(Dirtopia) in Stellenbosch. They're adding little bits at a time.

It's not luck boet! It's commitment!

It has involved a lot of sacrifice on Glenn's part. It's the stuff

your wife reads about in the 'Country Life' mag (while you're

busy reading Tread or MBR).

Chucking in the corporate life,

Moving to a small town

and spending 3 years of your life building MTB trails with little

to no income!

How many of us would have the b@lls to attempt that?

We're in the process of getting the website up and running,

marking the trails and sorting out the logistics.

Will post details once the trails are officially open.

Thanks to the Swampdogs and everyone else who joined

Glenn and the rest of us 'hangers on' for the weekend.

Regards from the self proclaimed "DownHillGuru".
