hi there, can you plz explain to me the diffrence, pros and cons of having a compact groupset. im not to clued up on these.

I agree. Compacts are overrated. Get yourself a normal 53/39 with wich ever cassette ratio you desire.

I thought it was MAGENTA if it was not pink...  WTF is Fuschia... that is a flower...

Just based on  the fact that you know what colour 'fuschia' is qualifies you for that compact and blouse son Tongue

Compacts are more than just for easier gearing, they also allow for narrower spaced gears at the back, allowing you to use more mid range gears. If you run a 12 -27 or 11 - 25 cassette there are huge jumps between gears.

 

With a compact you can run an 11 - 23 cassette and have enough gears for the hills and the downhills. The only time you may suffer is in an out of the saddle sprint against Cavendish, where a 53 / 11 might just come in handy.

What would you guys recommend for the wc races? - I mean - rolling hills all the way. Only once in a while a ride over passes .
