Kritzie Posted May 25, 2009 Share Bought my Merida 96 3 weeks ago and saw the following merida 96 same as mine advertised for sale!!! I noticed that it is different to mine as were the seatpost clamp is attached it differs from my bike in that My bike does not have the reinforcement triangle extending from the top tube to the seat post sleeve. Weird!!!! Also see the picture from the web site(My bike is identical) Any ideas why!!!! Kritzie2009-05-25 09:11:
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted May 25, 2009 Share what size frame are the 2? if you look at the head-tube, you'll see that the bike for sal eis quite a large frame, hence the difference in head-tube length and supporting section between top tube and down tube. I'm assuming that the extra bit of metal (for reinforcement) would be due to the fact that it is a larger frame, and therefore under more stress... KingPigeon Posted May 25, 2009 Share It has to do with the size of the frame. Yours is probably a small and the one for sale is bigger thus it needs the extra support. Bikes often change slightly with size, but the geometry will be the same! no panic

Santa C Posted May 26, 2009 Share the top one is an XL frame, that is why there is extra support
