This morning on our way back on our club ride a CRAZY OLD MAN WITH A VERY RED FACE came from behind and despite our following vehicle proceeded to scream profanities at us while passing.  (I think he forgot to drink his blood preassure pill) One of us then made the mistake of squirting his car with water, he then decided it would be clever to brake in front of us and to try and push us off the road.  He was so busy looking at us over his shoulder that he clean forgot to check the oncomming traffic!! He WAS ALL THE WAY IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE!!! He then swerved back into his lane and i think that was when his wife told him 'PAPPA STOP DIT NOU'  INCREDIBLE, luckily nobody got hurt!

Yep, discussed this last week!!

We really need to look at our reactions! This is not who is right and who is wrong!!

The correct way of dealing with the situation was to remain calm and if you felt the group was in danger, was to stop completely and wait for him to carry on or move on. Take down his vehicle particulars and report the incident at the nearest Police Station (even if you think nothing will come of it).

Thank the Lord that you guys are all OK and I Pray that he will continue to protect you!!

I thought it was the guy's wife...............

Not uncommon for older couples to call each other "Mamma" and "Pappa".

Function of having raised a couple of kids, changes your household lexicon.

Better still get rid of those anorexic road bikes and come play in the mud with us.? No cars although a tree did stop in front of me once.

Yeah, trees have a habit of doing that! Happens in front of people far too often.

East Rand we have a problem with quads and off road bikes leaping out at us when we go off road.

Spraying the driver with your water bottle is pathetic and just plain stupid. Rather use pepper spray, much more effective, especially after he attempted his braking stunt.

Two "wrongs" dont make a "right".

Were you all single file?

Were you riding with due consideration for other road users.?

Just because theres a following car, dosnt give the bunch the right to spread out over the road.

Anyway,........ so he shouted, so what, someone in the bunch with a juvinile "herd" mentality escalated the situation to a possible confrontation by squirting water - why, for what,........ to appear the tough, dont take c**p from no-one animal in the herd.??

Really, loose the attitude, I am pretty sure there was a lot he had to complain about knowing how most bunch cyclists ride, keep your hands on the bars and smile and wave, thats all, smile and wave.!

I am not pointing a finger at Grapkas, just the way the incident was escalated unnecessarily.
