Wild West Road Ride

Slave - my suggestion for the "race" would be to use a race such as 94.7 as an official Westrand vs Southern plebs race.

Its normally done on the hub with Argus and 94.7, between the brothers and sisters from Slaapstad and the Northern territory.

This way its way fairer, and the training rides can be just that, and not a race........

But if you wanna race them, go for it, I dont think its fair to them though, you will kick serious butt, and they might not want to join our rides again after that.

Slave slave slave.... just remember the first graph shows the % inclines... nothing mega major (most are in the -2 to +2 % range!) and Kdp hill is not as bad as what it looks like from afar smiley2.gif And look at the scale of the second graph, nothing mega major smiley2.gif

And to all:

any idea / choice between the proposals from IanJ & AndyR ?

Distances are as follows:

AndyR = 87 km

IanJ = 94 km

Ah Trubes, Such wisdom for one so young.

Great idea, I'm glad I though of it.LOL

I was thinking more along the lines of we race them (Sorry, you, GO and WW race them on their turf. Then we invite them for a SBRNR race on our turf.

I think you're right though, they will sulk if you guys kick there butts.

But then I heard that Thug is like quite a hard coredude. He rides to SBR from Rosebank, does tow laps of SBR and then rides home again.

I think he might kick us in the butt. To even the playing filed a bit, I will "repair" (servcie) his bike just to make things a little more fair.Wink

I would prefer a longer ride, so the 94 would be cool, but what is 7k's?

What time we gonna start?

6:30/7:00?

Thug sounds very hardcore, can we still back out of sat's ride?

Saturday sunrise is at 6:56  ... but I reckon we'd need a 6:30 start, else we go way to deep into day.

If we start at 6:30 we should hit town after sunrise. The section around the cradle should be reasonably quiet early in the morning.

Just remember the lights / reflectors and warm clothes

Glad I have my Slave jacket. High visibility and warm.

Light on back, no lights up front. Maybe it is light enough for me to see whoever is brave enough to ride in front of me.

Thug, dude, you are def hard core. Ride from Sandton just to ride the WWRR and then ride home again. Eish.

You guys all OK with a 6:30 start... there was an IF in my post ...

How long you guys reckon the cycle will take? 3:30 - 4:00 ? which means we should be finished at 11:00 (7 am start...) or 10:30 (6:30 start)

Is 6:30 worth it?

What do y'all say? 6:30 or 7:00 ?

Yeah, I agree with 7 am. Still dark at 06h30 and I'm very miserable when it's dark.

I love riding a bike anytime it's light, but darkness and my body tells me I should still be sleeping. Added to which it is stll frikken freezing at 7.
