They guys on the Alberton & JHB South thread always harp on about the hills on the other side of town. So how about a road group ride to show all and sundry some of the hills out on the west?

Route

GPX file for route available here  - 94km

For those who want to do an additional 16km, click here - 110km

Both .zips contain a WWRR.gpx (so be careful not to overwrite the other)

Nancy, are you going to join this undulating ride?

Come on Nancy! Smile

Aye - I will be there.

Route sounds good Agteros. But what about adding a few km on by going to the very top of Krugersdorp Hill and then at the robot turning left onto Voortrekker. Then left onto van Oordt. Then downhill all the way to Robert Broom. Left onto Robert Broom and continue.

Open to suggestions for alternative start time...

Those roads are a lot busier than out south, particularly HP which at least has a shoulder to ride on but once you're on Robert Broom or the R563 the cars come very close.  As much as an 8h00 start is appealling from a sleep point of view and gives our suvvern buddies more time to get out Norff, the roads are just so much busier.  I would lean towards a 6h30/7h00 ride... but that's just me and this isn't my ride... so I'll just stfu now Big%20smile

I'll fit in with what y'all decide Wink

Nancy I'm fine with a 6:30/7:00 but the soufferners aren't used to getting up so eary to gofor a ride, this might be a fine time to let them experience what we do to go visit them in the flatlands LOL

I think a 7:00 am start at the latest should be good? What says the rest of the gang?

This adds 6 or 7km to the ride, sounds good smiley2.gif

That sounds good to me!  You can add my name onto the list (tentatively) still need to get 'permission' from home affairs minister
