If there is coffee I will be there!! (A Southerner who's not scared of getting up early!)

There is one of those happening this weekend. Start ride at 07h20 with Joe Low (AKA Mr. Bond). I'll be doing that one and IIRC, Delgado is in the reserve tomorrow as well. The kid bailed when he saw what the weatherman predicts for the weekend. He says the gym and his bed is warmer.

Hey Ox, I was out yesterday doing some hills in prep for this ride since I am terrified of hills. There are some meanies out Norf. That climb up to Kdorp is a frikkin mine shaft and you want to go UP? WTF, you want to keel us poor southern gentelfolk?Dead

Bring it on I say.

So, we have found a new chat thread. Is this one going to grow like Alberton?

Julle het al so baie k2k gesels the thing is already a todler en hy is so pas gebore.

Back one  page.

Or if you like 27th June 2009. Shall we pool resources and use as few carbon emitting vehicles as possible? Meet at Rietvlei and team to reduce our carbon footprint.

It's all well and good going fitness crazy and keeping the planet green, but to drive 100 km to ride another 100 km is kinda crazy, yet we do it all the time.

Guys and gals, I am not averse to riding in a bit of traffic. I do the Mondeor loop frommy house often (did it yesterday) in the afternoon rush traffic. So if the route takes us along places where there will be traffic, we just need to be sensible and ride single file. Simple.

BTW. I think you can count me in. It will be good training for 94.7.

I too have to consider the opinions of the minister of home affairs. She also just happens to be the minister of tourism and Finance and trade and industry.

Speaking of which, said minister finished my riding jacket yesterday. Not in time for my Mondeor mission but when I got home, I had to fit it on. Warm as toast and snug as a bug. Looks dam good and even has pouches.

Hijak on -  We are taking order for these riding jackets. With or without lining, with or without pouches (like your cycling jersey), any colour you like as long as it is dayglo yellow.

Hijak off.

The only place where we may have a bit of traffic would be up Krugersdorp Hill but there is the emergency lane for us to ride in.

A 0700 start time I am happy with.

Agteros: We have to take these Southerners up to the top after the dip, can't turn off after part 1 and not do part 2 of K-Hill. Tongue What is the total distance including the extension to Voortrekker/van Oordt/Robert Broom?

I am sure coffee should be available at Riverstone. After the rides from there I have usually just packed up and gone home. I have seen bottled water there though.

First post has date/time/venue

Third page starts with a map smiley2.gif

We'll do the longer flavour, which adds another undulation [;)

Can we count you in Wonder Woman?

YeahWink The 'steps' Pinch

Nancy' date=' are you going to join this undulating ride?

Despite the lenght of the climb up the steps, they are just a mere speed bump. Anyone who hails from this neck of the woods knows, that if you want a fast average speed ride, you go and do the loop including the steps.

I do not know how they got such a fearsome reputation since they are really not that bad. To go up there at 30 is do-able as you have experienced. Now, if you do them after a berg ride, well that's a whole nother kettle of fish.

The Lido hill on the uvva hand Oxman, now there is a hill. Some of the hills in Glenvista, they can hurt a bit.

The steps, they just tickle.

I once ran a night race (15 k's) called the flat one. It started at the Hyperdrama and meandered it's way through the adjacent area. The only flat (one) k was along Ontdekkers. Now that was a race that hurt some. Up and down those little hills in Rant en Dal.

Is that the best you can come up with?

OuchCry

This is all good for 94.7. How long do you figure this is going to take.

Is Owl going to come and pace us? Trubes is in, WW and Slave.

Kid is throwing weights around the gym these days,so he is probably not going to make it.

Maybe some of those eastern fellas might want to ride. Delgado, Mr. Bond et al.
