I carry a Medi Kit in my CamelBak....... Used it about 3 times for fellow MTBers that couldn't keep the rubber side down.... Till now I was lucky :-)

Whats in your medi kit? I use spare tubes. Sad thing is they are for limited use only - breaks and sprains

as a human being another human being injured and bleeding should be good enough reason to stop and hlep. even if that help is just to slow the traffic downa bit while still getting them to drive past. helping could also be going a bit up the road and showing the #$%^&*('s flying past to slow down so that they don't crash into the existing crash and kill a few extra cops and medics who are helping hte people injured in the first crash.

i was utterly disgusted at the IDIOTS on cedar today - flying at about 100km in an 80km zone and getting all irate at a marshal showing them to slow down. there was a fatal accident in the dip. the car concerned was only a bit in hte road, but so was the adult victim (the late driver) and the medics were trying to help him and hold his brains in etc. many of these people getting upset and only slamming anchors just in time had MTBs on the back of their cars. cyclists comming in the opposite direction were forced to move into the road to get around the accident scene. cars could only get past in one direction at a time. but drivers don't care. tehy want to get to their destination as fast as they can no matter what.

a mother lost her little baby girl today because the father went speeding past another car and then swung back into the lane and braked to turn in to the property where they live.

the only people willing to stop and help were a few taxis and Lovemore from CyclLab. the vast majority of the few drivers who HAPPILY slowed down and put on hazzards to warn of danger were taxis.

the rest of the peopel were upset that their trip was delayed by a few seconds.

i guess many of those idiots wonder why people like me stop and help whenever i can. it's simple - the victim is a human being. and more importantly - one day the victim could be you and karma is a bitch.

i hope the cyclist from the incident that started this thread incident is ok.

I was marshaling one of the Cycle Lab groups this morning going past that scene, once again Lovemore has out done himself by stopping, I felt so proud to be a club member. I had to marshall my group past the accident scene again on the way back. I can only say that the drivers of some of those luxury cars disgusted me, the arrogance is sickenning.

Slowpoke thank you to you and your biker mates. Its an honour having you guys and girls helping us.

Sorry to hear that lives were lost!! I pray that those injured will make a speedy recovery & my heartfelt condolences goes to the families of the dead little girl. RIP

I have said it and I say it again, I will rather take a chance with a Taxi than with so called 'educated' people in their luxury cars & 4 x 4's.

Could not agree with you more. I witnessed a motor cyclist donner of his bike near Middleburg yesterday morning. Who stopped to help the poor guy? Me and a driver of a coal tuck.

Captain Slow, the only injured were the girl and her dad and apparently (according to jmpd) niether made it.

despite taking sleeping tablet last night memories of the mother's cry of anguish "my baby" has kept me awake.
