What's with that downtube swift?

It's said to imrpove the frames overall stability, so that it's very responsive on cornering and at fast speeds (downhill or flats)... makes the bike feel very agressive through corners, giving you the confidence to really chuck it into bends...

It also makes room for sunken-in cables, which IMO looks really cool.

The G4 has the same sort of design, but the BB area has changed quite a lot...

SWIFT!! So how was Asia and most importantly how was the G5??

Did you get to ride it? How was it?

Hey. It was awesome man!! Really cool place.

Had the BH Asia conference and 2010 launch in Taichung, just south of Taipei in Taiwan.

Loads of cool stuff, on top of the G5. Road the G5, man what i bike!!! INcredibly stiff, but like riding on air... Malcolm and the boys are going to LOVE them!! :)

The G5 had some really impressive stats. They use a more conventional UD (Uni-directional) carbon as apposed to the nano-tech carbon of the G4 SL. Bottom braket stiffness is said to be improved by 100% over the G4 SL. It's got carbon everywhere (inside head tube, cable mounts, fork)... the only ali on the bike is in the BB and in the bottle cage bolt mounts. It even has a specific mount under the down tube for those of you going Di2 soon... more to come in my write up...

There is also a new really impressive ladies specific full carbon race frame (baby blue colour) whcih i rode... very cool. One of the most comfortable bikes i have ridden, while still very responsive.

Then there are some new additions, like an integrated seatpost full carbon hard-tail... the one we saw was built with everything up to 8.3kg's... but i still think you could go under 8 if you went to town.

I will do a report on the trip... got loads of pics. Just crazy trying to get on top of things here. Some changes happening for me in business, so need to be on top of things...

The frame will weigh between 830 and 950g... depending on size.

They have already produced a limited edition model (wait and see - we getting 2 soon)... so they have the weights on these, no claims :)

Swift' date=' has the sponsorship of Medscheme really benefited sales?[/quote']

The guys have been great for us. Very professional bunch of guys, and having them on the bikes has improved awareness a lot...

True benefit in sales will come 2nd half of the year.

So whats so special? How does it revolusionise cycling?

Its not like it only has one fork leg or something.

Carbon fibre wrapped in some pretty strange shapes so that a BCom Marketing grad can talk about it.

My markeing psin on it is that its a Blue and Black frame with a headtube, a top, a seat tube and a downtube. then hey added some seat staysand chain stays and gave you a new BB design. Fopr this revolution you have to pay 30% more.

Now if it made my coffee, htat would impress me

Ideas on pricing yet?

?

Just so I can plan my bank heist...

With current ROE, this new frame set will come in at around the R38k mark... but let's wait and see when they arrive, expectedly in Nov smiley2.gif

As a customer (I assume) I respect your question, never mind the way in which you have asked it...

If you are really interested in the answer to your question, have a read through this article on the new BH G5

I hope this helps?

A coffee machine would be a better bet for a cup of coffee though.
