OK so I race cross country and marathon rides - I try to not walk unless it is a proper hike a bike. I like a nice stiff shoe and my current Olympics are a bit floppy and I need something a little better.

I see there are some pretty nice shoes on CRC with good discounts too (I have a mate going over next week who can bring them back)

I cannot justify spending several thousand on Sidi shoes as pretty as they are. So what are you riding with and what do you recommend?brussel2009-06-18 03:44:03

The issue I have with my current ones is that they bend and put some uncomfortable pressure on the arch of my foot. If they bend to accommodate walking that would be great...ie bend only for walking but stiff in the opposite direction for riding.

Speaking of sidi being soft I looked at the mavic shoes - very pretty but a VERY soft sole.

Where do I look in cape town...Willie Engelbrecht has a good selection but holy cow they are pricey brussel2009-06-18 03:52:19

Cycle and sports centre in George

I have the green ones they have the green ones,

You can always try leather die?

Its a good shoe for the price one of the few shoes that doesnt have a hard plastic grip on the sole more of a rubber.

if louis garneu have your size go for the LG carbon T flex just enough flex in the toe area to aid walking but stiff carbon plate on the pedalling area to make your riding as comfy as a road shoe!!

I must say Matchstix for the amount of walking I do hard plastic is not too bad. I do like the idea of the rubber round the edges of the shoe though...means the uppers are protected.

Turtlek: those look good, I saw them at a LBS...nice price too though R2500!
