Just be Safe, if there are cars and it's busy stop. If it's 4h30 in the morning and there are no cars i sometimes don't even stop with my car, nevermind my bike!!!

Can't wait to read the thread when you've ploughed into a group of cyclists who didn't have lights on, but were legally going through a green light...

Yes sometimes, but I always slow dont to a near standstill and dont proceed if there are cars around, I'll only go through ones where the cars don't come through at 90 degrees, mostly ones that are 3 way only and I'm on the pavement side running straight through.

e.g. Main road towards Fish Hoek at boyes drive, or Main road towards Simonstown at Glen Cairn.

There are no cars that come "through" those intersections... but I still slow down and look properly.

Who is going to start a poll about who doesn't exceed the speed limits, or who rolls through stop streets and who stops behind the white lines at traffic lights or use their phones in their cars.

All motorists break the law every day, yet its somehow acceptable.

A cyclist runs a red light @ 5:00 or doesnt wear a helmet and its criminalized. Sure, there is also a Hoo Ha when he is run over - but now more and more people are asking whether the cyclist was being stupid in the first place.

O P%ss of TNT, of course i'm carefull, treat it like a stop street. I just love it when people only post one sentence of like 1000 words. If you read my whole post: BE SAVE, SENSIBLE and RESPONSIBLE!!! It's not like i'm speeding through red lights at 160km/h looking for victims to mow down!!

Yeah! What really burns my arse, is when all these twit motorists complain about the high levels of crime or whatever, and then promptly get in their cars, and proceed to break every law they encounter. Can't you all just do your bit to uphold the law as you encounter it? I mean that will at the very least free up one or two more police persons to go and combat other crimes?

Oh, wait, tell us again how speed cameras and such are purely money making rackets... Simple, don't speed, and they'll take em all down. Twits.

yeah, I even do it with my car. If there is no traffic near the robot and it changes to red for some bullsh*t reason - timed traffic lights or something.

And sometimes its just too dodge to stop at a redlight - even with a car at night or early morning.

Obviously you have to stop if there is traffic.

I slow down look check it out and the make the decision.

I try never to drive over a red light or even orange light - I live near a crossing in Stellenbosch where I've seen to many accidents because of this - jumping lights. Cars, bikes, scooters etc . So I try to be very careful regarding this.

Hey man, this is ZA, how many true lawabiding zitizens do we really have.  I don't think if i skip a red light on a quiet street early in the morning when there's nobody around it's gonna harsh anybodys mellow!
