Evan Andreou Posted April 4, 2007 Share Paolo Bettini and Valverde....Very versatile. Agree, but are they 'pure' sprinters?
Mudsimus Posted April 4, 2007 Share Bettini outsprinted everyone on a flat circuit at worlds and Valverde came a close second to Boonen the year before. I think thats good enough!
Evan Andreou Posted April 4, 2007 Share Can't argue those stats, you don't regularly find them in the sprint though
Mudsimus Posted April 4, 2007 Share But "pure sprinter" as in "useless at everything else" I'd say Petacchi.
Evan Andreou Posted April 4, 2007 Share He hasn't even been very good at that lately
Mudsimus Posted April 4, 2007 Share True! Freire's got the ability to make everyone else look very stupid on a good day, but his to inconsistend. I also like Husovd...very gutsy!

Mcgee Posted April 4, 2007 Share What about Stuart O'Grady and Baden Cooke?
nochain Posted April 4, 2007 Share McEwen ,can win from almost anywhere ,sprinting of the front(lead out)Â or coming from way behind(on his own).In my book he is by far the most naturally talented sprinter.Explosive speed ,guts and he reads the sprint better than most(perhaps only Oscar is better at reading a sprint).
