I rode to work in the morning now I know for a fact that it is 33km to work, however my speedo did not give me the correct dist or speed, could this be because it is to cold to function correctly? I use a polar CS300.

No not unless the road shrank significantly due to the cold...

Check your wheel dia set up in the computer is correct.

Best way to do this is to accurately actualy measure the distance of 1 complete revolution of your front wheel and enter this in the CS300.

It should be close to 2099mm for a roadie and 2076 for a mtb, depending on wheel and tyres...

If the setting is correct then check the sensor gap and batteries, perhaps the signal between the magnet / fork sensor is intermittant or between the fork sensor and the computer.

This model has a "lunatic" circuit built in. When it is silly cold it switches the thing off in the hope that the rider is not going to be silly enough to ride in blizzards LOL
