OKO works best using tubes - not running tubeless specially if your rim strip us not a 100% fit.

Road tube about 60ml is enuf.

180ml per tyre for most sizes. 100ml for road I would say

Thanks - was just about to PM you myself. I've got 100ml but am on the road now, going to top up to 180ml this weekend.

Like the idea of preslimed tubes. I had to make my own valve core remover out a old screwdriver and my dremmel as all the LBSs where closed the Sunday I wanted to do it.

I'm running UST rims and have had zero issues to date.

Why would it work best for tubes and not tubeless?

I'll have to top up the OKO at some stage then.

Must say that even with only 100ml in 26" MTB tube I was surprised at how effect it was. Laugh but I was tempted to throw in 500ml into each tube. I'm not a weight weenie - I always ride with my 3L camelbak topped even if it is just around the corner.

i recently bought my wife a bike second hand.

it came with tubed tyres with slime in - not sure which brand, but it's lumo green.

the reason i know it has slime?

well, the other day i pull a thorn out of her rear wheel and a green stream of sealant shoots out against the wall.

not being a "believer", i say to myself - some good this stuff is - and pack up laughing. LOL

i spin the wheel once and suddenly the stream stops and the air stops rushing out. i then find another thorn in the front and repeat the same process as above.

i decide to do a little experiment and leave it as is.

3 days later and the wheels are still at the same pressure.

we go for a 12km ride and again i decide not to fix the holes before we go just to see what happens.

to my amazement the wheels held up fine and didnt lose even a little air!

needless to say i am a believer NOW!

(but unfortunately i dont know which brand of slime it is)

Kamikaze that green stuff is Slime, the original, before the name became generic. I run Ryder slime in one of my wheelsets and I am pretty impressed. The moment the mud tires come off I will go back to tubeless though.

I'm keen to test out the OKO when the tubes come out.

Does OKO also dry out like stans does? Does it also need occasional topping up?

Mtb slime/sealent is thick and you do not need to pump to a high pressure.

Road tend to use only slime / thin paste as you have to insert into the tube/ valve. some people cut tube and insert slime. You pump to reg. pressure.

I only ride Road, still need to get MTB.

The tyres I use are a seeled unit (like a tubbi )with inner tube. The valves are removed and then you insert the slim/ sealent .

Once you pucture you can not pump to a High pressure.

Use it with tubeless conversion on non UST rims. No problems thus far. O and don't be lulled into a false sense of security with it blocking the valve hole. If you are riding and get a cut that size it won't plug, trust me on this

Don't get me wrong I was mearly sharing my amazement at the sealant. Trust me, if I get a hole the size of my valve I would change my tube even if the sealant plugged it.

Face it, its a rather large hole ... I'm more just at ease knowing that it is going (and for all I know already has) plug thorn holes.

I actually had a flat this morning - bike has be standing for a day and must have lost air slowly. I have a mixture of OKO and Stan's - wonder if that's the problem.

Doubt it. I've used OKO and Stans as well and no problems. It might just be your tyre not seating properly. Inflate it and use some soap water around the edge to see where it is leaking. Then you hold the wheel with the leak at the bottom and start slowly swinging it to slosh the sealant around to seal the leak.
