TWO PASSES TRAINING RIDE

 

Course starts at Paarl Mall on this Saturday @ 06h00.

Rolling over Du Toitskloof Pass and Bainskloof Pass, easterly side.

130 kms ; 1650 metres ascent

Work rate 26-28 km/h

 

Bring your climbing legs, a rear light,

training fuel (no pit stops),

and good chit-chat.

That looks so amazing! I really wish I could join you guys, but there is no way I'll be at Paarl by 6 am and I don't think I'll be able to handle that pace with all that climbing. Have fun guys!

For those that train on the following roads... The Fisantekraal road is open again. Also the R44 from Wellington to Klapmuts is tarred all the way to Klapmuts N1 bridge with no yellow line.

Polkadraai is also open all the way.

I am leaving Edgemead at 04h00, to be in Paarl at 06h00, 25km/hour.

Sadly I'm gonna be working Friday night.. I'll only be home at around 12pm.

 

And I honestly don't think I'll survive more than 150km. I don't wanna slow you guys down and have you have to take care of me.

Polkadraai is also open all the way.

Wannabe, is that the safest route to Stellenbosch, or what is the call on going via Bottelary Rd and Kayamandi, or vice versa?

Cycling alone, I would try and avoid Kayamandie.

You can always do Bottelary and then go up past Devonvalley Golf Estate and through the Valley. Very scenic with a nice climb included.

But alone, I would suggest Polkadraai to Stellies and back.
