  1. As wannabe said. You can ride it. However I would advise on doing it alone. Take someone with, or ride as a group if you can. Just also note there is a short tunnel on the Worcester side that you have to go through, and its a bit dark, but you can see sunlight on the other side of the tunnel. I think its about 100m long, but safe to use.
  2. This helps me out thanks! I am flying UK - Dubai - CPT in late September and returning to the UK with my bike. As long as I stay under 30kg I dont need to worry about my bike! I booked tickets two weeks back, and saw this thread and thought oops I am busted.
  3. Bluetooth with phone connection will eat up the battery quickly.
  4. What power meter do you have? Turn off bluetooth connection to your phone.
  5. Just make sure if you use the free postage option, you take the tracking option!
  6. Yes sorry 25% as you said - I made a mistake looking up the code.
  7. I think it will be 30% and then add VAT = 44% But it depends how its added to the invoice. Link to tables I use: http://www.sars.gov.za/AllDocs/LegalDoclib/SCEA1964/LAPD-LPrim-Tariff-2012-04%20-%20Schedule%20No%201%20Part%201%20Chapters%201%20to%2099.pdf
  8. Done the same with my other wheelset and it works. I think the problem for the wheelrub is the 'bulge' the tyre makes when inflated. On wider profile not really a problem. However I think if you should ride it in the rain or put pressure on the cranks, slight change there can be wheelrub. Again, it depends on what level of risk you want to take. Also remember the warranty can be affected.
  9. Officially the 2014/2015 Supersix Evo Hi-mod can only take up to 23mm. I consulted Cannondale. I have this problem as I cannot put 25mm on my mavic wheelset and have enough clearance. You will get wheel rub. However it depends on the rim though. Some rims allow the 25mm to fit in the space available. Not sure about the standard Evo version.
  10. @Patchelicious - are you running 25mm on a supersix already? I have a supersix evo hi-mod and cannot get them on for certain rims.
  11. I used to have the CLX40 Rovals. Loved them to bits. Perfect for the South Eastern days... What I did find with them is they dont spin up as quickly as my Mavics, but thats not a problem really. Just if you wanna compare you might feel the difference. Lighter then some well know aero brands as well... The CLX50 replace the clx40 wheels. With 25mm tyres on, if I hit a reflector on the road, I dont even worry it might deflate.
  12. Alberto Contador rode with Alligator iLink cabling last year, not sure about this year... So guess it must be good at shifting and braking... and he rides mechanical groupset as well.
  13. I use Chainreaction where possible (depends on the deal and what I need) Have a look at this thread for dicussions on importing... https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/75887-import-duties-on-cycling-goods/
  14. Sportsworld group rides every morning 05h30. Check out this page... http://www.sportsworld.co.za/category.php?id_category=447 >> click on the weekly rides to check for weekly ride plans.
  15. I hope her insurance pays and get the insurance to check if she was on a phone as well.
  16. Did she (the driver) stop or drove on?
  17. Pinot probably couldnt believe his luck. Berto got mobbed... but his peak is only for later in the year where Pinot is targeting Giro. Berto left some guys struggling to hold his wheel with that attack. He looked hungry. I think Trek also suits him better, Felline helped him a lot. If that was Tinkoff, then Berto would probably have been by himself in that selected group.
  18. I dont know why its done the way its done but I would say if you have an entry then logistics done. Just need a start time. Two weeks before the event should be fine as well for this? Also if races dont count towards Stellenbosch tour or Cape Town tour, then less people will wanna do it?
  19. Hmmm, so all the races in January counts for nothing then.
  20. yes, and that is my point. Why so early when there are still races left on the calendar.
  21. Why could this event not count towards Argus 2017.
  22. allez

    99er Close call.

I hope when Slent Road is tarred, it can be used for races, and take us off busy roads.
  23. Saw highlights on youtube, some nice fireworks indeed. Guess all the frustrations of hearing Tinkoff moaning all the time helped light the fire Today's stage is a key one and the TT stage.
  24. I rarely read posters on a pole as its either (1) negative news about SA politics, (2) I don't see the poster as I am concentrating on the car in front or around me while driving in traffic, (3) it's 20m high up on the pole, so only the birds and truck drivers see it. For me visibility will be better with the gazebo thingy. Get a few cyclists to stop there, have a chat, and whatever, and the drivers in cars will notice it more. You probably won't get the message to the guy driving drunk on an open road, but the more 'sensible people' that see the campaign promos will think about cyclists differently. An awareness campaign on popular cycling routes is of more benefit of money spend. But it should be mixed up. They have the gazebo, they have the manpower, no need to spend extra on posters which one out of how many people will see. Rather put it towards real visibility.
