Was greeted by road works on the R304 yesterday. Stop and go between fruit seller corner and silos. Was a bit scary to cycle through that with all the heavy machinery and trucks.

Ill be giving the loop a skip till the road works is done.

Seems like there are no more roadies in the Durbanville area this time of year? All pack your bikes away for winter?

Been cycling to klipheuwel everyday since last week Wednesday around 5pm and i was lucky if i saw maybe 1 other roadie. The evenings has been so serene and beautiful almost no wind. Last night was awesome.

Nope, we swopped bikes. Now it's time for the fat wheeled mud bikes.

You'll find us on the trails before dark, and then on the backroads after dark.

Yesterday I took a ride past Phisantekraal, turned right at the fruit sellers 4way, and got the fright of a lifetime.  No yellow lines right to the N1.  One forgets how secure you feel with a yellow line  (no matter how narrow) on your right.  Had two trucks, a couple of taxi's and cars come past me.  I was really glad I wore black lycra.

Be careful out there!

Ok, we've got a social 300km Audax ride starting 00:01am Saturday morning from Vrede Winery - Bring R90 to enter - it's not a race - we stop in each little town for a bite and to top up and ride again - should be back at around 12pm the afternoon.

Badly want to do something like this, but don't have the mileage in my legs for it just yet. Been slacking for the past 12 months. I'll be ready by the end of this year though!!!!
