Just in case anybody is looking for a ride tomorrow morning...

Leaving Old Oak/Durban Rd at 7, expecting to average 25-27km/h and have a relaxed morning out.

Would have joined but rather going from here (Wellington)via Paarl over Helz towards Strand and back via Kuilsriver, Bottelary and back Paarl..... that is if the wind plays along

Wannabee and marius, which group should I ride with on wednesday? The slow or fast guys?

Dunno, are you in the mood for some serious suffering? If yes, the fast group. Just moderate suffering, the "not so slow, slow group"

Either way, it is lotsa fun.

Dude, you've got Family Duties... [loud voice] Step away from the Hub sir, you're only going to get yourself upset [/loud voice]

I'm working on a plan, but I'll rather not put it in action. Still want to be able to ride in future... B)

Wow Wannabe you make it sound really hard, guess I will go with the slower group

Nah, not really. You quickly find out where you belong in the pecking order, and then you just hang on there for dear life. :P

I'm planning a Sunday ride of approx 120km. From Durban Rd/Old Oak to Stellies, over Old Helz, then ride like a pnoes through Pniel, left at Boschendal and on through Paarl, then back to Durbanville via Fisantekraal.

Relaxed pace, no willy waving, really just aiming to get a long ride under the belt before the One Tonner.

Hey bikemonster, sorry I didn't stop to chat. At that point my legs were saat and tired and I was just not lus to ride anymore. Just before I saw you two, I had called my wife to pick me up. I thought that 'pale' body looked familiar (no offence to JP - but thats how I saw it :P ). Hope your ride was lekker. I saw loads of guys riding along the roads today.

I did do a 122.89Km ride at an average of 29.4Km/H (4 Hours 8 Minutes odd). Rode hard I guess. Problem is I did it alone so it gets boring and there is no one to gauge intensity with. My legs are aching from the ride.

Built wheels are great. Just waiting for the rim, that I bought, to arrive so I can sent it to be built and I can send the two already built wheels for straightening B)

Boet, are you sure you gonna peak for the Argus next year?

I have decided to just stick to a limited amount of races (although I might do one in between)

- 10/10 Engen Dynamic

- 17/10 One Tonner

- 27/11 DC

- 05/12 Burger Cycle Tour

Will confirm extra races at a later date - don't wanna burn out mid-season.

No worries. Will be off the bike for at least two weeks in December. Lotsa time for recovery. Will only be able to get going again in first week in Jan 2011. Done this before, was able to handle it with ease.

No worries! We had around 95km behind us, we weren't about to turn around for a chinwag either. Funny thing was, we'd just been chatting about you and Wannabe when you hove into view. It was all a bit surreal.

From my house to brekkie at Willowbridge was 115km, at an average of 27km/h so I was pretty pleased with proceedings.

It will be 155km to be exact or 178km if you woosies keep complaining!

Some of the other pansy's are starting to worry more about the route than the kilometers! At least you got that part right MariusL :P

So it was 151km to be exact :P Nice ride, nice pace, nice weather... nice to see the 5 of us looking strong all the way. If we keep it up, I'm sure we'll make our projected time for DC B)

Nice ride indeed. 157km for me PLUS I even got a tan :D . No more white legs comments from Scotty & William

marius, considering we all had a fairly decent workout the day before :P , Sunday's ride was a good indicator of fitness levels for half the team at least.
