Thanks for that JB. I can collect that when I collect my R3.50 bush.

 

 

 

The Loctite is a reccomendation from the Commencal Owners site. The guys who have stripped the main pivot say there is a teensy bit of play in the main pivot axel. I'll only know once I strip mine completely ( I haven't ventured into the main pivot area as yet) and figure I'd rather have the stuff and be able to complete the job the day I strip it. With regards to the adhesive being tough to deal with afterwards, apparently nothing a rubber mallet can't sort out.

Careful, that's what I though when I left my pivot axle with a friendly Irish mechanic. Apparently it did not, so he used a hydraulic press

That's a valid reason for using an adhesive.

 

A rubber mallet looses too much energy in the blow, use a nylon mallet. Still delivers a sharp blow, but doesn't damage alu.

 

If it is still stuck, heat it with your hairdryer. Some of the Loctite versions respond to heat.

Any 6800/2RS and 6802/2RS bearing will work and should cost from R30 up. The stock bearing thats in the bike is a max-load bearing.The bearing inside does not sit in a cage and so has more bearings in the unit thus make it better for carry big loads. People are normaly to quick to replace the bearings as most of the time they just need a good cleaning. These bearings are stainless steal and take a lot before they realy need to go. I service them every three monthes then hey will last you long and you wount get bearing thats stuck on the bushings.

If you bushings are all good then just replace those bearings with SS ones  and lastly try find a shop that use the right tools,FSR tool kit from Specialized.
