The Pirate Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 So we did the Jock last weekend and on the Sunday after the race I took to hubbers to this climb outside Baberton. They have never seen or done it before. It was fun It used to be a stage on the Sunday after the race, why not anymore ? The record for the 7 km hillclimb was set by Nic White in 2004 at 24:42 as far as I know.

Its on that 1km straight section just before the horshoe bend at the bottom. Awesome. . . dont know if I want to do it on the mtb. There is a dirt road clim to the top where they paraglide that takes about an hour with the MTB

That 1 km straight probably is one of the steepest parts as well. Next year I'll join my friends and see how far up we can go, IF the hillclimb is not back as part of the Jock.

Delgado Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 that's a cow of a climb!! Used to be the Sunday after the Jock hillclimb and they used to handicap the riders (age etc.) to get an equal chance for a result....
