NotSoBigBen Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Just wondering how many of you that have changed from one type of MTB frame material to another (comparing apples with apples i.e. HT to HT etc.) can honestly say you felt a difference in the ride? If you did can you easily describe the difference?
Absalon Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I found that the carbon frame was alot stiffer but not as nice to ride.
CaptainDura Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I went from carbon hardtail to alu fullsusser and can honestly say: I felt a huge difference.
Weight Weenie Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I had a alu frame ht and now a carbont ht. HUGE difference in stiffness, weight and ride quality. Carbon is comfy in vibration absorption.
Goodbadugly Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I have done the circle and I am back on an aluminum hardtail. I get more bump absorption from a 2.2 tire and a good fork than from a carbon frame.
