The latest Ride Magazine has a very cool article on us Unicyclists, done by Steve Shapiro following a ride that Steve did with the group in May this year in Tokai Forest.

We posted an article on the AmaOneTya website a while back about it, and is still on the main page Smile

What is Unicycling?? Ermm

Lance Armstrong is a unicycle. He's only got one nut.

Basically unicycling is when you completely loose the good sense your God gave you and then ride around a single track on one wheel...

LOL

I clearly lost all good sense a while ago, and will again this afternoon. The single tracks are calling me Big%20smile

you guys kick @ss.

1. Wish i could balance like that on 1 wheel - Does a 150m wheelie count ?

2. dunno who it was at sabie classic earleir in the year, but he whooped my @ss. Dunno how though cause i was much faster on the downhills, like much faster, yet on the uphills there he was passing me again. eish Stern%20Smile

150m wheelie is pretty good..... just not quite there yet though Smile

That was probably Ruan who passed you on the Sabie, who is on TheHub.... UniRuanCycle, The guy is amazing, and will attempt anything. Watching him take 6 foot drops with no thought of how it may end is quite inspirational in Uni terms. There were 2 guys who did the Sabie, Ruan and Alan who owns and runs www.unicycle.co.za the only place in the country where you can get decent Unicycles without importing them yourself at a considerable higher cost.

btw... the unicycle.co.za front page has an image of Ruan riding along a log

they really awesome! there are videos on youtube of them  riding in tokai....and bailing. it must be so painful to bail on one of those!

Thanks man !! Smile We do have a few videos up on YouTube. They are also up on our Video Gallery on the AmaOneTya website.

Most of the time when we bail' date=' which is fairly regularly, we land on our feet. With nothing in the way ie. frame and handle bars, we simply let go and jump off if things get quite sticky Smile Occasionally I beat myself into the ground, but seeing as we don't really go very fast, unless things get horribly out-of-control on some steep downhill, it doesn't really hurt at all.

This is the guy that rides in tokai!

Thanks DHK ... was there this afternoon, spent most of my time riding down Vasbyt many times before taking the single track down. Was an awesome ride !! I just wish there was a lift system that went up to level 5 Smile
