Retro Bicycle Thread

Finished my EROICA SOUTH AFRICA ride yesterday.

Other than headset, complete Shimano 600, some EX, some Tricolour.

And pedals!!!

Now to test ride it. I know the brake levers are a bit high, but once I lose my middle (), I'll lower them.

Here's my retro contribution. Bought these in a moment of weakness!

Colnago has Shimano Sante, (although an Ultegra rear mech)

Daccordi has full Campy and Mavic GP4 tubbie wheelset.

What do you guys think? Rode both, lovely to ride.

I think the Sante looks cool on the nag! Nice rides.

Any idea when the Eroica SA site will be opening their bookings?

I already have accommodation booked in Montagu, thanks to my buddy!

I too am going to ride SA framed bike. Alpina SLX for me and Zini for the missus.

I have a 27.2 DA seat pin to swap for a Shimano 25mm seat pin. The seat pin is in VGC (8/10).

How long is this seatpost?

I just spoke to one of the people involved who wouldn't tell me the booking opening date :-) He assured me there will be plenty space and a division for SA bikes :-) I'm thinking of riding Reynolds 753 Hansom with shimano 600 tricolor. I don't have a good photo of it as it is still being fixed up...

Hi Guys,

Iv been following this group for some time now and have never really had the the guts to post anything or share what iv been up to on my side.

I absolutely love steel framed bikes and find the history and nostalgia behind the sport extremely enticing.

I have ended up doing builds with newer groupsets, purely for functionality and the added gears. So to cut a long story short, here are some of my favorite builds. Feel free to comment or give any suggestions. Have a great weekend guys.

You clearly spend more time building awesome bikes than writing cr*p on the hub - that is a good balance to keep. Love your work!

Wayde!!!!

I'm just worried that you won't be allowed to ride any of those beauties at Eroica Africa!

And I'd love to see at least one of them suitably attired when we ride in Montagu.

And meet you of course[emoji13]
